The house is old, but it was adorable. Decorated very cute. Everything we could possibly need was on-site. It was a quick trip, but we would stay here again!
A perfect home away from home feel. House had everything we needed and more. Peaceful spots around the property to relax. Host was super responsive. Highly recommend!
We loved our stay in this classic Folly cottage. Was equipped with everything we needed for our weeklong stay and the proximity to the beach was amazing. It was a. Iâve quite part of the island and the sunsets were beautiful. Our kids loved playing in the big yard and catching crabs off the dock behind the house. We would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The view of the estuary is excellent. It is interesting to watch the change from high to low tide. The location at the far north end of Folly is away from the main crowds. The description of this property is accurate. It has a beach cabin feel.
I can't ever forget the beautiful sunsets from this really well taken care of beach house. I probably took 200 pics! lol.. couldn't get enough of it. The house was very comfy with plenty of space for me and my sister. I loved the vibes and location was perfect for us. I really can't say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend, the marsh views are stunning! thank you for letting us stay and I will be back!!!!! tom M
This was truly a wonderful stay. Our host was communicative and thoughtful. The views were amazing. The house has everything you need to cook up anything from a small snack to a four course meal. We will definitely be coming back!
We had a very casual, relaxed time during our stay at Folly Beach! We typically prefer the ocean views but opted to text out this location with marsh views. It didn't disappoint. We were able to spend our mornings and evenings enjoying the wildlife and boaters who frequent this area. Not to mention the amazing sunsets we saw right off the deck. Beautiful. The house was perfect for us and equipped as stated. It's also located near the end of Folly Beach near the nature preserve and was very quiet. Steven was a great host and was very quick to resolve one issue we had with the lock. Definitely recommend it.
This was our fourth visit to this amazing cottage. So glad we got to enjoy some quiet and relaxation before Helene hit Thursday night. We felt so safe in the house and loved the way all the neighbors were checking in on everyone as they walked their dogs. If you need a peaceful get-away- this is the place to be. It takes you back to a simpler time but has just enough newer technology to make it very enjoyable.
This property could be a true, 5 star rental. However, there was mold in both baths, Shower door was barely hanging on and the BR doors to the shared deck, would not lock.
The washer and dryer were located on the lower (under house) space and still had towels in the washer. The laundry room was a mess!
There was open food in the refrigerator left by previous guests.
The house is spacious, clean, light and airy and could be a prime rental with some necessary upkeep.
It is conveniently located with a beautiful view of the marsh, sunsets as well as a small, ocean view and restaurants are close by.
Lovely, quiet older house steps from the beach. Easy check in and out. As advertised, Marshmellow has some little quirks that come with it being an older home, but nothing that the marsh view and proximity to the beach didnât more than make up for. Loved the sunsets from the spacious back deck. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
House was clean and had everything we needed. Located away from the madding crowds, so that was nice. Beach was great and close by. Marshes off the back deck was a nice feature and we were able to see about 20 fireworks displays in the distance beyond the marsh on July 4. Great sunsets! The kids enjoyed watching the little crabs off the âcrab dockâ at low tide.
We had a wonderful time revisiting Marshmellow. The location near the end of the island is perfect, the marsh views are spectacular, and the proximity to the quiet stretch of beach can't be beat. Steven was super helpful and responsive. We hope to come back again.
This was our first trip to Charleston and Folly Beach. I was in town visiting my daughter and grandkids. This beach house was further down away from the âbusierâ part of town, which I loved. Yet just a short drive to the main strip. Easy walk to the beach access and deep yard w/ older dock to the back marsh waters. My grands loved catching âcrabsâ . The home is older however very cute and spacious inside & nicely furnished. Comfortable stay and I am looking forward to visiting again some day. Steve was great too! Prompt communication and easy access instructions.
A girlfriend and I have come here twice now for a joint birthday trip. It is the perfect house for the two of us - We love having the Marsh-view with our coffee in the morning and a quick walk across the road to the beach. I was sad to find out that they are not accepting reservations for next year. The only thing I will note is that neither of the sliding glass doors in the bedrooms actually lock And the wooden block to secure the door was missing in one of the rooms. There is also a lock completely broken off of one of the bedroom windows. Seeing as itâs just us 2 women, we do like to feel secure in the home at night. Otherwise, this house is always incredibly clean, cozy and well stocked.
I am born and raised in Charleston and Michael is a transplant who has lived here for many years. We live just down the street at the end of East Ashley Avenue, almost to the Morris Island Lighthouse. We own and operate Stella's Restaurant and Mosaic Catering + Events as well. Our other Folly rentals are part of The Daffodil Cottages compound... Two 1 bedroom and one 2 bedroom homes located at 114 East Cooper Avenue, just a block from downtown Folly. Also, If interested in staying in downtown Charleston for a few nights, we have 3, two bedroom apartments located at the corner of Warren and St Philip Streets that we run through vrbo as well! If any questions at all about the area, do not hesitate to reach out. We love our island and are always excited to share information!
This historic Folly cottage dates to 1950 and is one of the originals from this end of the island. She is a little lived-in but has everything you need for a great beach vacation! Beach is right across the street so no need to rent golf cart etc!
