The property is in a perfect location. Close to the beach, close to calle Loiza, close to everything we needed. Walking into the central AC on a hot day was the best feeling ever! Jennifer was an amazing and friendly host and was very helpful and responsive. We had an awesome time! And we would definitely stay again.
My adult daughter and I rented this property for a 4-day stay. It was perfect for us. Easy to walk or go by Uber or Bus anywhere we wanted to go. Easy walk to the beach and to many of the near-by restaurants. No problem getting into Old San Juan.
This is an older property, but perfect for us. So much room! We had everything we needed, and people in the neighborhood were so nice.
I have rented VRBO's in several different countries, in addition to the USA, and this property was competitive with other properities we have used and enjoyed!
We definitely did not want to leave, and can't wait to get back! I give it my highest recommendation. Thank you
This home is exactly as advertised. If you are expecting a 5 star luxury accommodation, re-read the listing. This is a local home very close to Calle Marginal and San Juan located in a charming up and coming neighborhood in Santurce. It is within walking distance of Loiza and close to so many really cool attractions. The neighbors are friendly, the neighborhood felt safe and we had no issues during our stay. My daughter loved connecting with her Puerto Rican roots and felt like she was a local while staying in this small and charming home. The split AC units work too well. I actually asked that my party turn them off while were were in the house because I got cold! We visited in late June early July.
We had hot/warm water for all our showers. The only compliant anyone in our group had was that there was no coffee machine (there was a perculator but it did not work) but I had packed instant coffee, just in case so that was quickly solved! The home had many essentials that I have had to purchase at other VRBO properties (toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, suntan lotion, sun block and even aloe!) Cristian promptly responded to any inquiries and concerns we had and his property was very well prepared for us! We had a great stay and will be back next year.
A two bedroom, two bath unit at an affordable price is hard to find in Puerto Rico. This plain, but well furnished, unit in a small triplex worked well for us while we did a few days exploring San Jose before catching a cruise ship.
We were within walking distance of the beach, but since we were in a residential home outside of the Condado area, we could feel like locals. And with the French restaurant, La Boulangerie, just a short walk away, we could eat great food that served a local crowd. (We tried another restaurant in Condado, and they obviously did not need to attract repeat customers. Eating where the locals eat is the way to find the excellent restaurants.)
The original tile floors are very worn in some spots, but a quick wipe with a wet paper towel assured me that they were clean. Also, we should have asked for a second set of keys for my sister and her husband before we got there, but our host quickly got us a second set when we asked. I never found a smoke or carbon monoxide detector in the unit, though, which is a concern that I hope the host addresses. I did not know where to go to buy one myself. Maybe I just did not see it.
The Super Max grocery store on Ave. Jose de Diego and Wilson Ave was about eight blocks away. When we trekked to the beach we went back home by the store, so that worked for us. We appreciated having the fridge for the beer, a stove for breakfast eggs, and a vase for the fresh flowers that we bought at the supermarket. I had some issues using the washing machine, but it got us by. Wished I had had the owner's manual in the house was all.
Overall, I could see us renting this place again if we are back in San Jose with another couple. We enjoyed being located between the airport and old San Juan in the Santurce neighborhood. We made sure to check out La Placita of San Jose for its night life and restaurants since it was a short Uber ride from us. Walking about six blocks to the beach suited us fine, and we enjoyed walking west to the Marriot since we could see the marine occupants of the tide pools in the occasional rock formations along the sandy beach.
This home was good value for the money, and we have good memories of staying here.
Neighborhood looked a little dicey but no safety concerns. Close to places to shop and eat. Neighborhood and nightlife geared more to young 20 year Olds.
Owner was a pleasure to work with. Listing was as described. Close to a great bakery & restaurant and a 24-hour convenience store; quick walk to beach. Short drive to Old San Juan.
Nice and quite apt. Close to freeway and San Juan. Close to beach and food outlets. Owner very responsive, on site, and takes care of his property. very helpful and friendly. The washer and dryer was a plus if you have small kids.
Great location! Walk a couple blocks and you are at condado beaches or trendy Loiza street. You can also walk to artsy Santurce, the museums there, and La Placita. The apartment is clean and spacious. The owner even arranged a private dinner for us at his gourmet Italian restaurant next door to be served upon our arrival. This is more than a typical stay at an apartment. It is an experience that cannot be missed!
