We had a wonderful stay! The rental was stocked full of anything you could need. The host also was very timely in answering some questions over text!! We would definitely stay here again!
The Depot worked out perfectly as a one night stay between Scottâs Bluff and Devilâs tower. It was spotless, comfortable, peaceful, and had everything needed to cook in snide and BBQ. Would definitely stay again and recommend as well.
It was a nice stay for the two of us in a great location in the hills. We didnât have any issues with the owners and they made themselves readily available if we needed anything.
We loved this site. All our needs were anticipated and the host was friendly and help. Great location right outside Deadwood and close to Mount Rushmore.
My kids and I went to the hills snowmobiling, and it was a very nice, clean, and affordable place to stay with plenty of room to park for a bigger inclosed trailer and pickup.
This property was nothing short of amazing! The pictures donât do it justice truly how charming it is! We connected with the owners with some questions before arriving and you can tell that they take pride in their location! We will definitely be booking Mad Peak again when we are out there! Thank you both!
After a grueling 10hr drive, this place was great to relax and kick back in! Only regret is not being able to stay longer. Owner was super kind, understanding and flexible.
The Depot at Mad Peak was perfect for our 6 night stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet, & tastefully decorated. The scenery was breathtaking. Tim and his wife were available & great to deal with!
Great location, you are away from the busy towns but still along the highway so easy to get to. Beautiful place with unique decorations. Clean and roomy. Has all the conveniences a family needs; stove/oven, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, and heated bathroom floors.
Awesome way to explore Deadwood and the Black Hills!!!
We had the best time at The Depot! The place was extremely clean and the owner was very kind and helpful! It is stocked with everything you could need! Very short drive into Deadwood and a nice reprieve from the downtown fun! We also rented a UTV for a day and it was absolutely the best way to explore the Black Hills! We will most definitely be back!!! Thank you Mad Peak!!!
Amazing accommodations! The Depot was exactly as it looked! Dishes and everything else you'd need, it was all right there. My 17yo loved the Hideaway bed and my 15yo son slept on the nice loveseat cause he is not "normal". Haha. The hosts were great and I would fully recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a fun and exciting stay in the gulches near Deadwood and Lead! Incredible and something the 3 of us will never forget!
Family of 4 ( 2 adults, 2 six year olds) -We stayed for a couple of days on our long road trip back from Colorado to Wisconsin. We wanted to explore Deadwood a bit. This place is a bit of a drive to an from town, but it was a nice place to retreat at the end of the day. It was well-kept, clean, and we had no issues with anything. I would just note that neither the wifi nor cell service is particularly good. We brought some games to play, and enjoyed watching a movie on Dish. Thereâs a restaurant/campsite down the road where you can catch fish and have it cooked, and it was excellent! Highly recommended.
Very nice cabin for two. It will sleep 4 though. Everything was great. This place is close to Deadwood. One note the water in the cabin is super hard you could smell the iron when it was running. I am on a well myself but I wouldn't drink it. I would bring plenty of drinking water. Other than that everything was spot on.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Easy access to roads to surrounding towns. Perfect for the two of us. Great atmosphere. They have utilized the amount of space to its full potential. Very creative. Everything you need. We hope to return sometime.
We have been in the Black Hills since Wild Bill showed up in Deadwood..... Well, not quite, but we have been here a long time and really enjoy sharing this area with our quests.
Come enjoy The Depot with direct access to state highway 385. We are centrally located between most of the Black Hills main attractions, not far from Spearfish and Sturgis, located just south of Deadwood/Lead and north of Mt. Rushmore, Custer, and Hill City. The Depot has additionally a large parking area with other parking for large vehicles and trailers.
There are so many things to do and outdoor activities in the area that itâs hard to know where to start. From hiking, golfing, and visiting Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse, to snow adventures and off-roading on the thousands of miles of trails, to water play and fishing, picnicking and exploring waterfalls, gaming and live shows, wine tasting and dining, the list goes on and on.
