We stayed at this VRBO (2 tweens 5 adults) to celebrate our friend's 40th birthday. The VRBO was a great spot to walk to everything in downtown Munising and was a great hub to drive to different spots in the U.P. (Marquette, Tahquamenon Falls, etc.). I would recommend some paint touchups here and there throughout the house, but those are merely cosmetic changes. Thanks for a great stay overall!
Great proximity to downtown. Not enough towels for the amount of people we had in our party and unable to initially locate blankets for pull out bed. Owners never responded when asked about each of these items. House has a lot of potential but could definitely use some work. Water stained walls, peeling paint. Only 1 shower, however we were aware of this before booking. Would probably not stay here again.
This property was very spacious and provided all we needed for our weekend getaway. The location is fantastic. Walking distance to everything. Neighborhood is peaceful.
Fantastic location in a fantastic area! We loved the roomy house, the big front porch, the playground a block away, and the beautiful lake and dock just up the street!
The house was clean and comfortable. Perfect location between Marquette and Pictured Rock National Park. Large dining area to share home cooked meals after a busy day.
The house was big and just as described in the listing. All of the bedrooms are upstairs and the downstairs is very spacious with a lot of nice furniture.
The location can't be beat. We were able to walk to downtown Munising and to the tour boat.
The house is a beautiful old house. Because itâs old there is the normal wear and tear but there have been some upgrades including living room furniture not pictured at the time we made our reservations. Our primary need was close to town and a large house which it provided.
We stayed with 6 adults and had plenty of room. The house is very old but clean. We only stayed 2 nights so it served us well. Location is a 10 out of 5. Walking distance to everything if you choose. We are all over the age of 50 so this house brought back some nostalgia of our younger days. House 5 of 5 Location 5 of 5.
Is a cool old home. Needs some TLC.
A good thorough cleaning would be good.
After a few requests for how to enter home received code for lockbox. Upon arrival code did not work. Called number left message. Texted owners. After 25 minutes and no response called again. Given totally different code. While on phone trying code received totally different code via text. Code from phone call worked and I informed owners what code is.
Was told to put garbage in garage and door is hard to open. There is no garage! It has been torn down. Wondered if they meant the neighbors garage?
Really not for 11 people which was number in our group. Would be ok if lots of children. We had 6 adults, 3 teenagers and 2 under 12. Youngest who is 8 had to sleep in king bed with parents. King bed comfortable, single beds ok, 1queen comfortable 2 need to be replaced and pull out twin couch VERY uncomfortable. No bedding for twin couch.
1burner on stove doesnât work. Dishwasher touchy will go directly to heat cycle. Playing with it we got it to work on heavy duty cycle. 1 full bath on second floor, 1 teensy weensy half bath off kitchen. Not adequate for 11 people.
Would have loved to use front porch but couldnât get door open and was afraid doorknob would come off in our hand like one on back porch.
Things look clean at first, but lights, light switches, floor areas upstairs are not.
2 chairs have broken legs. Not enough silverware for 11.
Few blocks from lake is nice.
Wouldnât stay again
Great place to stay. Walking distance to the boat tours. It's an older home, which has its own charm, but also has older home quirks like opening the doors, so once you master that, it's all good. Beds were nice. I would stay here again.
Our family of 6 stayed in the house July 2 - July 5 of 2022. The house is large and spacious and could easily fit even more people. There is only one shower though. We managed fine with this but for a bigger company it may create a contention. The house has a nice deck with a swing and large driveway.
The location is absolutely great. Itâs the central street of little town of Munising with many restaurants and bars in just a walking distance. The main Munising attraction - Pictured Rocks Cruises and adjacent park are also just a few min walk from the house. Supermarket and gas stations are within 2-4 min drive. Yet, since the house is located few blocks off the shore and the city center itâs very quiet and comfortable.
Overall we had a great stay in this house in Munising.
Iâm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 though because the house requires some maintenance and the kitchen need to get a bit better stuffed. Full details on these were communicated to the owners and property manager to help them make the house better for future guests. I hope they will take advantage of the detailed list of recommendations I sent and will implement them in a near future.
It was fun staying in a historic house that made walking to most things in Munising so easy. We loved the easy walk to Gallery coffee and went every morning. The bedrooms housed our group of 6 very nicely.
Perfect location a few blocks from the gas station and then the snowmobile trail another block away. Four couples, plenty of space, driveway a little tight if everyone brings a trailer and no parking on street so be aware of this. Inside was cozy and not modern but very functional. We had a great time and the snow/trails were awesome. The wives loved seeing Picture Rocks in the winter.
We rented this home for our daughters families for my husbandâs retirement trip. They loved the open spaces, lots of beds in bedrooms and how close to restaurants, stores, and ferry. It was a great place for us to gather. Thereâs only one shower- but that was fine, too. Really recommend for big group.
