Emerald View Lodge was a great lake house for our large group. The kitchen had everything we needed and all the bed and bath linens were provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
I house was great the host was great. The property had plenty of dishes and oversized pots and pans. The blackstone flat top was an added bonus. The lake was wonderful. The movie theater was a lot of fun, I think the kids watched a movie every night. We would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay! Many great features in this house! I would love to get my friends to rent with me but I donât think many of them could handle the steps well to get to the pier. Itâs a lot of steps! That didnât deter any of us though including my 82 yr old brother. My family had such a great time on and by the pier and enjoying the kayaks! I would love to come back again! I recommend renting a pontoon boat too. Loved our family reunion
Spent the week with our whole family to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. Plenty of space for a large family. Well equipped kitchen to feed everyone. We had a great time.
My extended family came together from around the country to celebrate my 80th birthday. Our experience at the property was everything I expected and hoped for when I booked the property. The website photos are accurate and truly representative of the property so it was nice to have no unexpected surprises. All the amenities, from fishing to kayaking to swimming to games were thoroughly enjoyed. Lastly, the property was exceptionally clean and well furnished with quality furniture.
Book the home! Pictures really do not do it justice. We had a family of 27 (2yrs - 78yrs). The property is more than enough room for your large group. The top floor has a wide, open concept with plenty of seating for dining or playing games. 2nd floor has a living area, bottom floor has the game area and theater room, and each floor has its own large deck, and each deck has its own, unique appeal. Top floor deck is great for gathering and playing group games, second floor has Corn Hole and a large Connect Four game, bottom floor has the hot tub and large seating tables. The kids LOVED jumping off the dock into the lake and fishing from the two kayaks. The lounge chairs have been updated from the ones pictured. The kitchen is very well stocked including a Keurig, crockpot, plenty of plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, pretty serving plates, casserole dishes, etc. You do not need to bring anything, it really does have it all. The fire pit was nice. They have skewers for smores or hotdogs in the top floor closet. The rooms are very well insulated. The beds are also very nice, not the cheap, hard as a brick mattress most rental homes have. We slept very well. The home was very clean. The extra parking worked better for the AWD and 4WD vehicles and the driveway to the house is very steep. Be sure to read and follow the trash guidelines or there is a 250 fine. There are cameras in both the front and back of the home. Owner was very responsive.
We had a wonderful time at The Emerald View Home. We love the time we spend in the mountains and loved our drive into the home! Yes, it was a bit off the beaten path, but thatâs what we expected when we booked in the mountains! Eric responded quickly to a few questions we had and was a great host! We had 24 family members, ages ranging from 74-1. There was plenty of space for everyone! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed! We loved that there was seating for everyone in the kitchen/dinning area! We spent most of our evenings sitting at the tables playing games. There was plenty of space to play several different games at the same time.We are already planning a summer vacation for 2026! Hopefully the water temp will be warmer! We did jump off the dock but with the 50 degree water it was a bit of a shock! But the thrill was fun! Thanks for sharing your home with our family.
The house is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need! I'm sure it's better in the summer when the lake is up. It was a VERY steep climb from the bottom of the stairs to the floating dock, I didn't even make it to the dock. The whole back yard is very steep and not safe for little children. I really enjoyed the fire pit it was nice. There are a few things the owners need to fix but other than that it was good.
This house was perfect for our family Thanksgiving. We had 27 people who traveled in from many different states to share in the best time of food, games, fun and fellowship. We were able to spread out and enjoy all the different spaces. Theater room was perfect to see a MICHIGAN victory over Ohio. I would recommend this property to anyone that wants a beautiful space for a large group!
The stay was wonderful but that entrance to the house is super scary. Extra parking spot is in a very dangerous spot in my opinion. If you stay here be careful when parking and pulling out.
Property is just as described. The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved all of the seating space and counter top space. The house met all of our needs and more.. We had a wonderful time!
I cannot say enough great things about this house. The owner took a lot of care to think of small details that large groups would need. The house was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The decks all had plenty of seating. The theatre room was such a nice bonus after a day on the lake. The dock had plenty of lounge chairs and tables to hang out on! The multiple grills, multiple fridges, and multiple lounging areas made this house amazing! We all loved our stay. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions. We will be back for sure!
We've enjoyed our vacation stays at this property several times and have always found the property clean and well supplied and maintained. We are planning additional stays at this great house.
We were excited for a week here, but the pictures didn't do this place justice! We had a great time. The house is awesome! The location is very quiet and peaceful. The lake was clean and refreshing! Well remember this vacation for a long time. Everyone wanted to come again next year!
Overall, it was a good house for us. We had 16 adults ranging from 67 to 26 and 9 children under 7yrs. The drive in - we had 4 sedans (2 Civics, 1 Elantra, and 1 Jetta) they all scraped on the way in and out on 1 particular hill. Some deep "gullies" on a steep uphill part made that particular hill a little daunting plus it as wet/rainy. The 2 CRVs, Outback, & 2 Odysseys made it fine.
The house itself is very nice with the 2 indoor sitting areas, 3 large decks with seating, & theater room. Just an FYI, you make the beds when you get there. The bedrooms/bathrooms are as pictured; many blinds didn't seem to work. 1 bathroom fan didn't work. There are no doors on any of the stairs.
The kitchen was fairly well stocked: 1 24qt? pot, "regular sized" pots, several frying pans of various sizes. There were not very many serving bowls. 2 13x9 size casserole dishes and a couple small ones.
Only real complaint is that some silverware must have gone missing at some point because we were always washing forks - I think the total must have been around 25 forks.
I agree with previous commenters who have children - It might be good at least on the lowest deck door if there was a higher lock or child lock of some sort. Even if there was a gate to go down the stairs to the water (we brought our own gate and managed to secure it for that area, but it took some ingenuity). With all the doors having lever handles, it is easy for any child who is tall enough to open the outside doors.
This is our second stay at this beautiful property. It is always very clean and has every necessity that you can think of. We love the view of the lake and the expansive porches for sitting and relaxing. Eric is very quick to respond to any questions that we might have.
Our organization spent 4 days at the Emerald View Lodge and had a wonderful time! The accommodations were excellent, rooms were super comfortable and spacious, the kitchen layout was very functional, there were plenty of dishes, cookware and kitchen appliances, grills for all our necessities. The location is very peaceful and conducive for a relaxing stay! Thank you so much!!
Dana and I live in Pickerington, Ohio and have four children and six grandchildren. I am retired from the telecommunications industry where I was an engineer for 33 years. My wife Dana is a successful real estate agent in the Central Ohio area. We love walking, biking, skiing, boating and traveling.
We have been vacationing at Norris Lake for over 10 years with our family and friend groups and fell in love with the deep, clean emerald waters of Tennessee. We wanted to rent a home for our large family and found how difficult it was to find a place to rent. The large rental homes were booked one year in advance so we decided to build our own.
We love this location because of the private, protected, calm cove waters, perfect for swimming off the dock, in year-around deep, clean beautiful water. The home is built as close to the lake as the TVA allows which offers a gentle slope from the house to the lake. We have added the following to our home: A Theater Room (to attract people outside of the swimming and boating season), a Double Decker covered 2 slip boat dock and Fire pit area. We hope you will enjoy this as much as we have.
