We had the very best family vacation (our first trip to Pawleys Island), communication with our host was impeccable. All necessities were provided to get us started and a fully equipped kitchen made meals easy to prepare. Enjoyed marsh life and was able to explore with the kayaks and canoe. The beach was just a short drive from the house. The fully screened back porch was a wonderful escape to read and enjoy the majesty of this beautiful area. Would love to return.
How many times do you walk into a place and it is better than the pictures? How many times does the host exceed every expectation? Exactly. This place and this host are simply fantastic. You will not be disappointed. So excellent in every way.
On The Water is an amazing property situated on the magical marsh in Pawley's Island. The views are outstanding and the house is very warm and welcoming. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for our family Thanksgiving dinner and the beverage cooler was a plus. The hosts are gracious and readily available to help if needed. Thank you for having us!
The views of the marsh were breathtaking. The Great room was pleasantly spacious for are large family. We enjoyed eating and playing games at the huge dining table. The master bathroom and bedroom were a relaxing retreat with a comfortable bed. Gorgeous views from all windows. Beautiful home on the most peaceful lot. Definitely would love to return in the future.
This was our third year at the property and it is just beautiful. Great views and excellent layout. Perfect for relaxing after a day on the golf course. Close to all Pawleyâs Island golf and restaurants
A real gem.
We always feel at home at this wonderful house.
Overall, my favorite coastal vacation! I couldnât give it a perfect score overall, though because of some minor issues. The screen door of the front entryway needs a little repair; a lightbulb over the master bathroom sink was blown; the rear glass doors leaked in heavy evening rain. The property management was very responsive in every way, so I am sure those issues will be promptly resolved for future guests. We will plan to return next year!
We stayed at this property for a weekend golf trip. The house was great and had an easy to access dock with great views! Very convenient location to courses in the Litchfield/ PI area, and a short drive to the restaurants at Murrells Inlet. Laura was very helpful with check in/ check out instructions, and was easy to contact with any questions we had during our stay!
We wanted a quiet place central to Pawleys golf courses, and this place was perfect. Beautiful back yard with wonderful creek view. Spacious living room. Overall, just what we were looking for.
This property is a gem!! We absolutely loved staying here.
This property is equipped with everything you might need to have a restful, fun trip. Whether you are vacationing with family or having an adventurous long weekend, you will not find a house more suited to connection and play. There are kayaks, a dock, a deck overlooking the water and plenty of room for everyone!
We will definitely be back! Thank you!
Great house all around. Perfect set-up for our group (4 dads and 4 teenage sons). Kids loved the bonus room downstairs, the dock, kayaks and cornhole. And the dads enjoyed the great room/ den with the huge TV and fireplace. Plenty of bedrooms and sleeping options. Kitchen had everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back!
On The Water at Old Tram Way is a fabulous rental! For those planning to cook the kitchen is VERY well appointed - all the gadgets and necessities, plenty of dishes, flatware, glasses. The layout was perfect for our two families w kids ranging in age, bunks upstairs and rec room in the basement, no one was bored! The best gem here was the use of the kayaks on the creek launched fr the attached private dock, lovely spot for afternoon cocktails while the kids fished the incoming tide. Rent here, you will not be disappointed :)
We had a large group of golfers and it was the perfect accommodation. This was our second stay and just as wonderful as the first.
Great location for golf - house is large and has stunning views and a fantastic main gathering space. Was nice to sit on the screened porch and dock overlooking the beautiful marsh.
Lots of games/cornhole/kayaks for the downtime between rounds. Many bedrooms, so sleeps multiple golfers comfortably.
Laura is an excellent host - outstanding local recommendations, prompt responses to requests/questions. Excellent communication before, during, and after the stay.
Cannot say enough good things about the house and experience.
This home was perfect for our family celebration of a BIG birthday. My favorite part might have been the very long table that ran the length of the screened-in porch, which actually seated all of us, which was 16 for one dinner! The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and even seasonings. The big kids enjoyed the kayaks, and we all enjoyed the sunrise from the dock and porch. Nearly every bedroom has its own bathroom, and there are plenty of beds and sleeping spaces. The kids loved the bunk beds. There were lots of games and puzzles, (and books!) but mostly, we enjoyed the dock and the marsh, plus trips to the beach. It was a great time, and the hostess was very accommodating to our needs. Thanks for a great few days at a special retreat!
The house was lovely! My family fully enjoyed all the activities. Kayaking on the marsh was definitely a favorite. For myself, my partner and my kids it was really nice to get an opportunity to explore an area outside of where we live ( Myrtle beach) and for the rest of our family it was a great introduction into the area.
Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your home đ
My husband, our 4 children, 2 of their spouses, a boyfriend and grand baby enjoyed an awesome week together in this beautiful Pawleyâs Island home! Near the ocean and beaches; a quick drive or kayak/canoe across the marsh to get to Southend Beach. The guys took advantage of 3 days of local golf courses while we girls enjoyed shopping and local coffee shops and brunches. We did a day-trip to Charleston and spent another evening in nearby Murrells Inlet; great seafood and fun pier walk with lots of nightlife and live music! He best part about this home was that we had plenty of room to gather in the large living room with enough comfy seating for the entire family! And the extra large dining table was perfect for family dinners together and late nights playing cards and games! And when ready to slip away to bed we all had comfortable rooms with plenty of beds. Overall, a perfect family vacation!!
We were on a work trip in the area, and this was a great place to come home to! We all wished we had more time to really enjoy it. The screened-in porch & rocking chairs were a perfect place to relax after a long day. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed this home. It was big enough that everyone could have there space but had wonderful family areas where we could spend time together as well. The kitchen had everything we needed then some. The dock and hammock were used almost the entire stay. Thank you!
What a great spot with great hosts! We had a blast and the house and locate were exceptional. When we come back to the area, Laura and crew will be our first call!!!
We are two families from Charlotte, NC. We have 6 kids between us so the house is kid-friendly and kid-approved. On The Water at Old Tram Way overlooks the marsh of Pawleys Island, SC affectionately referred to as "The Creek" by locals. Pawleys Island is the oldest seaside community in the U.S., dating back to the early 1700s. The privacy and beauty of the marsh give a respite from beach tourism but you're only minutes away from the ocean. We want to share this beach haven with other families and friends who desire a scenic, peaceful getaway with the beach only minutes away by car or canoe or by foot at low tide with creek shoes or old tennies!
We all live in the big city of Charlotte, NC and desired a home away from home to rest, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. Friends who retired in this Pawleys Island neighborhood encouraged us to consider this house. The marsh view is spectacular at any time of day whether you're viewing from master suite, main living space, back porch, dock, hammock or swing. We enjoy being away from it all to include all the beach activity of oceanfront homes. The property to our right is undeveloped, conservation land so we enjoy that privacy and quiet. Access to the salt marsh and beach are really the best of two worlds, in our minds. Renters can explore the salt marsh in our 2 2-person kayaks and canoe. The beach is a 10-minute drive away and public beach access parking on Pawleys is free.
We were attracted to the house by views of the marsh. The four of us owners worked hard to bring the indoors up to par with the outdoors. Most of our furniture and all of our beds and mattresses are new. Fresh paint throughout the house and brand new appliances in kitchen and laundry closet. One of our owners is a talented artist and her landscape paintings are hung throughout the house. The decor is current and stylish and feels more like your own newly decorated home than a beach rental house. The neighborhood is very quiet and most residents are retired and do not rent their homes out. After driving 2 miles off Highway 17, you take sandy unpaved road to our house. It is always a relief to settle in and a struggle to leave this special spot.
