Great place and location, but horrible property management
The place is really nice and in a great location, with the beach just a short walk away. But our check in was challenging. We were given the wrong keys at first and had to go back up to the office to get the right ones. Then found out that the right keys only worked in the back
Great place. Wood burning fireplace was so cozy, front desk happy to provide us wood. Plenty of space, full size laundry in unit. Quick walk to beach, close to Seaside and restaurants/shopping.
We normally go to the Oregon coast during July/Aug to avoid the heat in Texas and be near our family in Portland area. The Vrbo rental this year was very good. Only downside was the furniture in the living room was old and not terribly comfortable and the TV was small. The dining table was high and only sat 3. The rest of the rental was very good. Good value.
The property looked nice, beach access very close by, and could not hear the neighbors from any direction.
The listed price and the binder in the room displayed different pricing.
... nowhere did it say you have to check in at the Gearhart hotel. We never received check in instructions and fumbled around for an hour once we got to the property. No one answered my text for instructions. The address on the listing took you to a random street address. It would be an easy to fix to state in the listing to check in at the hotel.
This is a worn but pleasant unit. Nice location -and great if you have a dog. There was no Roku as included in listing - this was a disappointment. The keys for the unit did not work -so we could not lock it when leaving. Could use some updating -but weâd stay there again
Very out dated and run down. Back patio was dirty. parts of garbage on the patio. 2 large piles of dog poop (it was not from my dogs) they are small 10lbs. I always pick up after them. Insufficient heating sytem. I had to use a portable heater for the bedroom. Living room was always cold.
Property right off the beach Quick walk or Steps onto the Beach. Comfortable, Clean, and had toys for the kids to play with also Games available for the adults. Nice deck to sun on and nice back porch and yard area to chill with a view of the Ocean. Will stay again for sure. Great base camp to explore the area.
This was the perfect home pad for our family with a 3-year-old, 6-month-old and Australian shepherd/border collie mix. We loved being able to easily walk to the big and beautiful beach, and our toddler loved having her own room, plus the pool and playground on the property. It was also fun to have the slight glimpse of the ocean from the front deck. The bathrooms could use an upgrade - mainly because the bathtub/shower slider door was difficult to move - and the dishwasher could use a new lower rack to hold dishes (most of the rods had broken off, so it's hard to arrange dishes in it). Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you!
The stay was nice! The condo was comfortably furnished. Stayed with 1 toddler and 4 adults.
The Pros:
Well furnished kitchen with a blender (yay!!!) & full fridge/freezer
Tons of games & toddler toys! Including a toddler plate in the kitchen. An entire Mega blocks table, that was impressive!
Tv trays for extra tables if more people come over
A fenced back yard!
The location was excellent, away from the crowds, close to a quiet beach and easy dune walking.
The Cons:
The heat was very confusing to use, there's a tiny black switch under the control to turn it on.
The tile in the kitchen area is cracked to the point of wobbling. We moved rugs over it so our toddler wouldn't cut her feet.
The door to the laundry was insanely difficult to open, I had to call maintenance in to open it. They also had to put in a work order for the closet, which was off it's runner and wouldn't open/close
First of all I informed the owner when booking that I needed a bottom floor condo due to the fact my MIL is on oxygen and use a walker.. Unit was a bottom floor, but nothing was mentioned about 5+ concrete stairs we had to go up to get to unit. No handicapped ramps were visible anywhere on property. The unit appeared to be clean but as soon as we entered it smelled bad of mildew. The master shower had mildew, tile in living area and master bath were cracked, most of outlets didnât work, tv I master didnât work idk about tc in second bedroom as we did not try that one.. bed in master was horribly uncomfortable.Heater didnât work, had to use portable heaters. I saw in guess comment book in unit owner was made aware of heaters not working back in March. Slider blind was missing several panels and one fell off while we were there and we noticed it had already been taped together and rehung. (We made front desk people know about blinds.)Chair I. Living room had bent front legs did not use as we felt it was unsafe. I have pictures if you want me to share. I am very disappointed for $150+ a night not worth it.
While the condo is not newly constructed, it has everything you would need for a holiday stay. Living room with fireplace, an area in front and yard at the back to play and let the dog run around, and 2 decent sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The location is great with a beach just 5 mins walk away. There is a nice coffee/bakery store nearby and it's less than 30 mins from Cannon beach if you want to go.
Excellent location with a block walk to the beach and almost next to a golf course. Unit was located on the bottom floor so only 4 steps up to get to it. We had a problem with the lock but maintenance was quick to take care of it. Bathrooms could use an upgrade. Would stay there again.
