We were in town for a wedding and this was a great location. It is on a main road, but we never had issues getting out of the house. Close to a ton of restaurants.
The house was clean and comfortable, great for a little family trip. The kitchen was well stocked and they provided coffee which was nice. The host Ruth was helpful with any questions. We enjoyed our stay for a few days while the family had fun at the beach.
Really nice accommodation for the seven of us. We stayed prior to our cruise and it was an awesome place. The only thing I would recommend is larger soft blankets, although being in Texas you donât usually need blankets!
Very cozy, clean, well equipped with all necessities/amenities of home, my gran kids enjoy the 2nd room with the parentals, was a perfect fit-we ALL enjoyed the stay and will consider staying here again in the future!!!!

We stayed here (myself, my husband, our 9, 8 and almost 2 year old) for a weekend. It was a great location for the beach, restaurants, the pleasure pier, and Moody Gardens. The house was so lovely, had wonderful amenities and was exactly as described. The communication with our host, Ruth, was wonderful as well. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a great time in this cute cottage.
We had everything we needed. Four adults easily fit in this house. I would rent this house again. Our host was available when needed
I like that the house did have a historical feel and was big and spacious. There was some construction going on right behind the house but not really a bother to us. We will be looking to book this house again on our future stays in Galveston if available.
The property was beautiful, it was the perfect amount of comfy yet vacation! We had a girls weekend and didnât want to leave the house it was so fun! Ruth made us feel so welcomed with her notes and check ins! Thank you so much for providing a great place to stay! Literally will be back!!!
The roomy property had everything we needed for us and our daughterâs family. Tvâs in every room, great kitchen, separate dining, two big baths, and a large living area. Loved the older home made modern. The price is very reasonable. Beach is walkable. Clean, no smelly carpet and comfortable beds and couch. We will definitely look for this cottage again.
THE guest enjoyed the cottage. They used the living room TV.
Only problem we had was cooking. The pots and pans were not big enough for what we cooked.
However we managed.
Thanks for the fun time.
We enjoyed our stay here at the Cottage. The pictures depict it accurately. When the home was remodeled they did good work but still left a lot of the original parts of the home, it is so charming. I loved it. Very close to the beach , a little too far to walk to with coolers and beach gear. We drove to it in like 5 minutes or less. Sits in a good area of Galveston. We were close to lots of attractions and activities.
Overall, the property was great! Very cute, updated and clean! Our only issue was finding it in the dark. Our map was indicating the property was in the prior block and it was very tough to see any addresses in dark. Had to call property manager, but she was very helpful! Overall, five stars! She also allowed us a late checkout before we left on cruise!
Mike is a retired pharmacist who also restores historical homes. Ruth is a retired music teacher who enjoys designing and decorating homes. We love meeting all the people who pass through our door. We are also active in the short term renters association and the Galveston Historical Foundation.
We loved the ambiance of this 1930's home. We lived in it for 2 years before renting as a short term rental. We love that it is close to everything as it is in the center of the island.
