The house was perfect for a large extended family. Our host was extremely responsive to any questions or concerns. Our grandkids loved the old fashion pinball machine!
It was perfect for us as we had multiple couples and we all had plenty of space! And the group gathering area was perfect as well. The best surprise was that it was only 4 blocks where our grandparents lived decades ago, so was able to enjoy walking the old neighborhood. Would rent it again without hesitation!
We were a large group from out of town & this house provided exactly what we needed. Plenty of bedrooms, large dining room table & 3 full sized bathrooms. Location was good as easy Uber ride to the stadiums downtown for the games we attended. Communication with the hosts were excellent, very, very responsive & much appreciated. The house is an old Victorian, so it does reflect the wear & tear of time plus not all of the bedrooms have AC although most did. Overall an excellent stay.
We had a group of friends, and this place was perfect!
Plenty of sleeping space, nice yard, second kitchen upstairs and great location. Highly recommend checking out Brunson's, a bar and grill right next to the house. If I need to accommodate a group again in the Twin Cities I will definitely rebook here!
Such a beautiful house with plenty of places to sleep and spend time with our friend group. We appreciated how easy it was to park and get in. We were close to an awesome coffee shop and plenty of places in St Paul. There were plenty of blankets, pillows, cleaning supplies, coffee. This house was a gem and were so happy to have found it!
We stayed at this charming Victorian home for my daughter's graduation. The house is just that charming, older, victorian home. Spacious, clean, and adorable. 2 kitchens, 2 washer/dryer sets, what else do you need? Restaurant within walking distance. Close to many attractions the twin cities have to offer. And close to the graduation ceremony for my daughter... perfect! Communication with the owner was quick, responsive, and friendly!
Stunning property...Great decor and sparkling clean!
We had an amazing time at Rachaels home. Upon entering you are greeting by beautiful Victorian architecture, a stained glass window, and funky decor. The home is beautiful, well appointed, and the furniture and beds are extremely comfortable. We felt right at home-the perfect mix of comfort and luxury. Cable TV was a bonus, as was the large space, the pictures dont do it justice!
We stayed here for the state wrestling tournaments at the Excel and it was perfect. All we needed was a place for a couple families to sleep comfortably and prepare meals in between matches. This was perfect. Bedrooms are nice and big and spaced throughout the house so it was quiet for everyone to get some sleep. Two kitchens were awesome!!
NIcely furnished apartment with amenities. Laundry on site, full kitchen, cable, wifi and dvd palyer. Owner also has books, games and puzzles for those days that you don't want to go out.
Onwer is very responsive to all messages. Answers or returns calls within minutes.
Interesting neighborhood to explore
This home was a nice stay. The house is a typically narrow city home with lots of architectural details, which give it a lot of character. The neighbors were a little loud in the middle of the night and the curb appeal could use some updating. There was cigarettes everywhere outside of the porch one morning, but were cleaned up when we returned later in the day. Overall, the interior was cozy and homey.
Fantastic communication with the owner. It is truly a huge and funky home. We had everything we needed. The living room area is fairly small, but we spread out between the dining room and living room and had plenty of space.
We had fun thinking about the home's history and eating at the many local restaurants - all were wonderful. We had a authentic Mexican and Thai just a block away, and also enjoyed Magnolia's and Tongue in Cheek.
The neighborhood was quiet for the most part other than a couple disturbances. It didn't feel unsafe, even to our group of suburban women.
It was winter, so we only had street parking, but there was no issues finding spots.
This is a very old property, so there are all the things that go with an old house, so if you are up for an adventure and love old and quirky homes, this was a really fun stay.
Very clean and well maintained. The only way to get the same amenities would be to get a suite in a hotel with a kitchenette. But even then you wouldn't have as much room, and it would cost a lot more. It's close to everything. Less than 10 minutes to a Cub Foods. Less than 10 minutes to Caribou Coffee. 20 minutes to airport. 20 minutes to Mall of America. 20 minutes to downtown Minneapolis.
The one quirk is that the stairs going to the 2nd floor unit go over one of the bedrooms. But tbhat was the only time we heard the people upstairs.
The owner was very nice and positive in all communications. I had to add my son to the booking at the last minute and she was great about that.
Overall everything was as advertised and I have minimal complaints. Getting in and out was convenient and plenty of parking. There is a big dining room, TV with plenty of DVDs they leave for guests. I had no problems with the WiFi.
We stayed in the downstairs unit and there is an upstairs unit for which noise carries directly downstairs. Conversations and footsteps can be easily heard. The couches are a bit outdated and not super comfortable, with a bit of outdated smell to them. Kitchen had basic supplies.
Again, overall it was just what they said it was on the site. It definitely did the trick for our 5 day stay.
I love all things outdoors! Writing and advertising were my previous career ventures before becoming a vacation rental host full time. I also loves any excuse to travel :)
Youâll find some of the cityâs best flavors on the East Sideâcome hungry! From the Korean inspired influences at Cook St. Paul to the try-it-all teaser flights at Tongue in Cheek. From locally roasted coffee with a side of vinyl at Caydence Records and Coffee to grass fed steak and decadently creative plates at The Strip Club Meat & Fish. From a neighborhood favorite pub, Ward 6, to local craft beers at Flat Earth Taproom and Sidhe Brewing Company, youâll want to try them all.
Indian Mounds Regional Park is home to six Native American burial mounds high atop 450 million-year-old limestone and sandstone bluffs overlooking downtown Saint Paul. Lake Phalen offers golf, swimming and year-round trails. The Dragon Festival in July celebrates the diverse Asian Pacific heritage found here with performance, ethnic foods and dragon boat races.
Some unique aspects about my home include a gorgeous mural on one of the bedroom ceilings, as well as the homey decor and large dining space, and beautiful granite counter tops. There are some really amazing glass windows from when the home was built in the early 1900s. You'll notice the Victorian era woodwork both outside and inside of the home :)
