This was a return visit to the Waikiki Bamboo, and I was totally happy with the room, all ameneties, cleanliness & "service" ( hotel staff & hosts). Will be back!!!
Very comfortable older apartment in quiet building everything you need to make your stay enjoyable has small kitchenette so if you don't want to eat out you can make your own comfy bed good aircon good shower great location within walking distance to beach and shops friendly helpful staff at reception if we ever come back to Hawaii would stay again
Clean and well appointed with 3 balconies and a nice little kitchen, and 9th floor view of the ocean! AC works well, but open the sliding doors on the lanais for that Hawaiian breeze. Dining table inside is perfect for meals and playing cards. Walk to almost everything, bus stops and scooter/bike rentals right outside. Gorgeous pool area with lush gardens. Especially loved the ice machine and filtered water available on the pool deck. Hotel staff are lovely. Will definitely stay here again!
We were there two weeks.
At first appearance the suite looked a bit worn and small. We adjusted the location of a couple of things and it was all of a sudden quite functional.
The pool and area is great. You can hook up with people and have a nice spot for an hour or two before or after supper. The overall location is great for shopping, eating, beach, car rental, and whatever else you might want to do. There is a bus stop right there. Buy a bus card if you are there for a week or longer. I am 65 years old and havenât rode a bus since school but still found it easy. Google maps on my iPhone indicated which bus to take and when it was at the stops.
Overall good for the price.
We went on a family vacation there and rented 4 separate properties. The rooms were accommodating and had beech items in the rooms. This particular room was rented by family and they had an issue with the hot water. Even after the property maintenance attempted to resolve the problem. As a result my family could not take a hot shower for their entire stay. We were reimbursed for our troubles and I feel that it was handled fairly. The property is older but served its purpose nicely.
Didnât have a particularly have a great experience
The toilet didnât flush properly for the first three days. The management team was reluctant/slow to fix the problem and didnât communicate well about the issue which made my stay frustrating. Once it was fixed the experience was good.
Good budget location but the smell is tough to ignore.
I stayed in three different buildings in the Waikiki area during my monthlong visit. This condo is a good budget option. It is small but has two small balconies and a second sleeping area that can be closed off by a curtain (although doing so blocks bathroom access. It is shabby, but clean. The kitchen is exceptionally tiny but worked for my needs. The pool area is cute. You must remember the building is old. Now, the smell. Itâs not good. Mark sent someone out right away to refresh the room when I called about it and that helped for a bit but I doubt anything will really get rid of it. It smells like spoiled milk and chemicals. I had to keep the slider open most of time I was in the room if it wasnât night. Mark also offered to refund the balance of my stay if I wanted to leave. I chose to stay and ignore it as best I could. I would not stay here again but I can see it as a great option for a couple of younger adults or the fairly hardy.
The actual hotel was nice. The condo was not clean. It is insulting to pay an outrageous cleaning fee to get a dirty place. Hairs were in the bathroom on floor and in sink. There is mold around bathtub and scum on the walls of the tub surround. The actual room was switched to another unit when we arrived. The property manager was called he said it was an upgrade. I find that hard to believe since this room's furnishings looked like something from a Thrift Store...certainly nothing like the pictures. Cushions on lanai were beyond tattered. Kitchen's glasses, mugs, and dishes need a good washing. Plastic glasses should be replaced. Guest's info book is years out of date. The manager was hard to reach and gave meaning to "ghosting." We paid more than rate to actually stay at the hotel where this condo is. On the positive side the air condition sort of worked and there were no bugs running amuck. Potential guest beware!
Location was great! Staff were great! Pool area great! Room was not clean for the money charged. There was hair in the bathroom, dirty socks under the bed, and specks falling off the ceiling. Along with some type of smudges on the mirrors. Because it was a last minute trip, there was no other place to book. Also, the host was unresponsive & unreachable.
We really like the location of this property and the pool area is pretty cool with all the trees and plants around it. The room could use a little tlc but otherwise great place
Staff great. Elevators great. This room great. Restaurant BYOB excellent fries. Bud transportation across street going to airport. From airport about 300 feet. Beach a few short blocks. Food places, ABC, International Market easy walk.
This property is in a old building and needs to be renovated. We had a horrible experience mainly due to the run down room we rented. There was a open paint can under the sink in a cabinet that is used to store old paint ( The pots and cooking pans were stored behind the 7 or so paint cans). How are you suppose to find pots and pans if they are hidden? The cooking pans are very old and I would never cook on them. The place smelled, so I placed the open can of paint outside. The sheets were stained, old and weathered. They also had a funny odor to them like they are sprayed or treated with something!??. There were bugs found multiple times throughout are stay on the pillows near the head of the bed. I took my wife to Hawaii and this not what I expected. Maybe you should actually renovate it with the ridiculous fees that you charge. The lanai that kinda looks at a glimpse of the mountain is packed with the owners personal belongings In large plastic bins that take up most of the space. The ceiling has obvious signs of water damage, which could be contributing to the odors. There were these metal gold pineapples stuck to the wall with double sided craft tape. The top one fell off in the middle of the night making a loud noise. We thought someone was breaking in. It is very noisy and the police sirens were heard at all hours. The decor is all over the place like you went to 20 different garage sales to find stuff to fill the unit. We could not pay to park in the building because it was full and sold out. The other options that they gave me were many blocks away. Not a good experience, I will never stay here again or rent from VRB. Garbage. Misleading. Really feel taken advantage of. No Thanks
Bamboo Waikiki: Prime location to stay in Waikiki!
We absolutely loved staying in your VRBO! The room rate was affordable, and we loved the cute ambiance and comfort of the room, and the ability to cook easy meals. The view was perfect and we loved the lanai. We also loved the proximity of the beach and all bus lines. We will recommend the Bamboo Waikiki to friends!

Often referred to as an Oasis in the Heart of Waikiki, the Aqua Bamboo & Spa is a lovely property that even includes its own Spa with a beautiful swimming pool and large sun deck in a garden setting called The Outer Sanctuary. There is a pavilion and even a barbecue grill - it's a wonderful spot to take a swim, or just simply relax after a day of activity.
