Location & layout great. House was worn & surface cleaned only. Dryer didnât work, kitchen lights flickered due to bad bulbs, many outlets didnât work, 7th âbedâ was air mattress that deflated every 3-4 hours when occupied, HVAC control died last 2 days. Pool was only cleaned day 5 of our 6 day stay. 6 guys so we made the best of it but for the price wonât book again.
We loved our time here. Unfortunately, the pool heater was working in overdrive, so we had a hot tub for night one and an unswimmable pool day 2. But the house is comfortable, conveniently located for what we did (spring training games), spacious, and easy. Check in and communication was easy.
This place could be so great! When the first word in the description of the home is "LUXURY", certain expectations are raised. But there were many issues regarding general upkeep and cleanliness. The carpeting is worn and stained and the tile floor was dirty. There were issues with burned out lights and loose and leaky faucets. The patio table was missing some ceramic tiles; one of the patio ceiling fans was missing its cover, the lights on the other one were burned out; the outlet by the patio door didn't work; the sliding glass door was very hard to open and close; there were broken drawer handles on some bedside tables. The smoke alarms kept going off one night and there was a backed-up sewer system that caused a toilet to overflow on the main floor one evening.
More concerning were some safety hazards: several of the smoke alarms were open and missing batteries, and one of the bedroom outlets did not have an outlet cover, several other outlet covers were cracked and loose (these items were all replaced during our stay).
There are positives though. The house has good bones. It's large, the high ceilings are great, there is plenty of room for a bunch of people, and the patio/pool/ grill area is exceptional. The owners provided a new all-in-one printer/scanner/copier before we arrived to go with the computer that was there, that was appreciated. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent, and the two Roku TVs were nice. We spent a ton of time outdoors in the backyard, both in the grill area and around the fire pit, and it was fantastic. The location is great. The other positive was that the property manager and owner were fairly responsive to all the problems we ran into.
The heated pool was also balky and in the end just stopped working and became too cold and dirty to swim in. The place had been advertised as coming with a heated pool, but make sure you negotiate the terms for heating it before you commit.
I know the owners and manager felt bad about all of the issues and did what they could remotely to get them fixed while we were there. At the end of our stay, I asked for and received a small refund for all of the hassles we endured. It was a nice gesture that they didn't have to do contractually.
With some updating and proper maintenance, this home could easily get 5 stars, so here's hoping they invest in the property.
The house is big and cozy! We had a great time playing games but mainly loved the outside setup! We had a barbeque night with the pool heated and sat by the firepit, it was awesome! Will want to come back because you are right next to Dodgers Spring Training! The manager was nice and got back to us quickly on any questions we had! Very accommodating!
House was pretty. A few small issues but it took care of us and we had a great time there. Pool wasnât warm enough to swim in though. Overall we enjoyed our weekend.
Our family had a lovely time at this Litchfield home. Itâs brand new on the rental market so could use some finishing touches but overall this very spacious home would be a great pick for one or two families. Our family of four didnât use 1/3 of this beautiful huge House. The kitchen is well stocked with kitchen ware, pots and pans and disposables. We cooked in everyday of our 10 day stay and didnât need for anything. Restaurants available to choose from if that isnât your thing. The owner supplied plenty of toiletries to get us started. Shopping for food and other supplies is just 5-10 minuets away depending on what you need. The back yard was a dream. We spent most every waking moment from coffee in the mornings, playing with the kids during the day to relaxing and reading in the evenings in the backyard. The mature palm trees and wonderful bird songs a major plus. It has a huge wonderful BBQ area that my husband used almost daily. The location was perfect for us. We attended a super 15 inning MLB game just 30 minutes into Phoenix, drove south two hours for our son to visit Tombstone(not a place to go again but he loved it) drove 2 hours north to beautiful Sadona and took a Pink Jeep tour(which we highly recommend) and walked the safe green belts and neighborhoods nightly. This would be a great place to stay during spring training, so central to all the ballparks, and fairly short drive to where the NFL/NHL games are played.
So here is our only major complaint to this home. The pool was freezing! There was an issue with having a new meter installed before we arrived and never did get resolved before we left. After 8 days of 90 degree heat it was finely bearable to swim some. Very disappointing for us since that is the most favorite thing about our family vacations.
All in all I would recommend this beautiful homeđ
