First we just want you to know how truly deeply sorry we feel for the distressing experience our guests had. Obviously this is the absolute last thing we would want for anyone staying in our property. My wife and I along with our children have lived just two blocks away for over 20 years without any issues. Obviously we were shocked and saddened by this incident that could have occurred in our property that we pride ourselves on making the best, comfortable and believe to be perfectly safe. Upon learning about the break-in, we immediately contacted the police and assisted with translation for our guests. We also arranged and paid for their stay at a 4-star hotel to provide some comfort during the surprising event. Additionally, we modified the reservation and refunded the last 14 nights of their stay. There was no damage to the door, but a clear handprint on the window indicated that it might have been opened because it was not fully locked. While we are not placing blame on anyone, it seems that an open window could have contributed to why this happened. This property has been listed on multiple platforms and has hosted over 200 stays without any issues until now. Since this incident, we have installed extra security measures, including bars on the windows, to ensure the safety of our guests it is our property but also our business, our neighborhood and safety is the first priority of our guests and us. We have tried to reach out multiple times to resolve this unfortunate situation and are truly disappointed for what happened and any distress caused.
