This pretty cottage sits attached to the owner’s farmhouse and is set on a 30 acre smallholding in the heart of the Devon countryside. The nearby village of Chulmleigh is a delight with its shops, pubs, riding stables and golf course just a short distance away. Further afield are the sandy beaches of Saunton and Woolacombe. Or enjoy the splendour of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Other attractions include RHS Rosemoor Gardens and the Cobbaton Combat Museum. For outdoor enthusiasts there are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities why not hire bikes or take a ride on part of the pretty Tarka trail. There is a local rail line providing easy access to both Barnstaple and Exeter.
Entering the cottage you are greeted by the warm and welcoming kitchen/diner with wooden floor and exposed beams. It is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. Walking on through to the lounge which has a wood burner, TV and comfy seating, this is the perfect place to relax after a busy day out. Five steps lead up to a half landing area offering rear access and storage for wellies, boots, and coats. A utility area can also be found on this level with a washing machine and WC. Heading up the wooden staircase from the kitchen/diner leads to the two spacious bedrooms both having exposed beams and country views, the first is a king-size with en-suite shower room with shower and WC and a bunk room with en-suite shower room with shower and WC.
Stepping outside there is a private patio with garden furniture and views across the rolling countryside. Guests are also welcome to explore the 7 acres of private woodland and by arrangement with the owner, meet some of the farm animals. A walk across the meadow leads down to the fenced wildlife pond which has a cosy shelter with an undercover dining area (guests are welcome to take their own food and drink), which can be booked for exclusive use with the owner. There is off-road parking for two cars.
