You start the day in the morning sun on the east-facing balcony, watching the fog roll over the church and fields. This two-story apartment offers well-designed rooms, clean lines, and surprising views in all directions—at the top of the tower of the historic administrator's house.
You enter the apartment via a spacious staircase. The kitchen, dining room, and living area open to the east with a view of the courtyard and church. A wood-burning stove is ready for use. Upstairs under the roof are two bedrooms, connected by an open hallway with a skylight bathroom. The south-facing room has a small balcony with an unobstructed view.
The communal sauna in the vaulted cellar of the house can be used daily from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. without reservation. Additional time slots can be arranged individually. The apartment is ecologically built with clay plaster and wood fiber insulation, with ceiling and floor heating, which also cools in summer. The northern bedroom is quiet with a view of the church square.
Rent a canoe and glide along the Elbe early in the morning. Cycle along the Elbe Cycle Route or enjoy the evening light on the dike. Café Lämpel serves homemade cakes. Exhibitions and concerts are held in the Salzkirche. You can pre-order fresh vegetables and cheese directly from Grünland Salzwedel.
