São Vicente de Fora is one of Lisbon’s most genuine and atmospheric neighbourhoods. Tucked between the better-known Alfama and the buzz of Graça, it offers a slower pace of life while still being just a short walk from the city's main viewpoints, tram lines, and local cafés.

The area is named after the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora, a stunning example of 17th-century architecture and one of Lisbon’s most important historical landmarks. But beyond the monuments, this is a lived-in residential area where you’ll see locals chatting at the corner café, laundry hanging from balconies, and the iconic 28 tram rumbling down narrow cobblestone streets.

Despite being close to tourist hotspots like Alfama, Feira da Ladra (Lisbon’s famous flea market), and the Panteão Nacional, São Vicente retains a peaceful, local atmosphere. There are no big crowds here — just tiled façades, winding staircases, and glimpses of the river between rooftops.

It’s a great base for guests who want to immerse themselves in Lisbon’s rhythm, explore on foot, and discover small local spots over big-name attractions. It also connects easily to the rest of the city via tram and bus routes.

São Vicente de Fora is well connected by public transport, making it easy to explore Lisbon and beyond. The iconic tram 28 passes nearby, offering a scenic route through historic neighborhoods like Alfama, Graça, Baixa, and Bairro Alto.

In addition to the tram, several bus lines serve the area, linking you to key spots across the city, including shopping districts and train stations like Santa Apolónia, which is just a short walk away.

For train travelers, Santa Apolónia station is about a 10-minute walk, providing connections to the airport, Cascais, and other Greater Lisbon areas.

With this transport network, getting around Lisbon without a car is convenient and hassle-free.

￫ The property is Self-Catered. Complimentary basic items are provided for your arrival, including first-day toiletries, toilet paper, etc. These items are offered on a welcome basis only - replacements or re-fills are not provided.

￫ Bed and bath linen are provided according to the number of guests confirmed in the reservation. For stays longer than 7 nights, additional bed and bath linen will be provided for free at the check-in.

￫ The Cleaning Fee included in your reservation covers the check-out cleaning only. Extra cleanings or fresh linens can be requested during your stay and are subject to an extra fee - these requests must be done with at least 24 hours in advance.

￫ Check-in time starts from 14:00 to 22:00 (additional cost of 25€ for check-ins after 22:00). Only one set of keys will be provided.

￫ We are obligated by Portuguese law to collect our guest's Passport information.

￫ Check-out must be done until 11am. Before leaving, please place the keys on the main table.

￫ During the stay, the guest is responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property's keys. Please avoid leaving them in the lock or mailbox. In the event that a specialized technician is needed for door opening or in case of damage to the key and/or lock, the costs associated with this service will be the responsibility of the guest. In case of key loss, a penalty will be applied.

￫ For stays equal to or longer than 28 days, monthly utility bills exceeding €150 will be charged separately. By making the reservation, the guest agrees to these terms.
