Alfama Studio @ Lisbon's Historical Heart

The studio is located in a busy tourist area, so exterior noise is to be expected. The annual Santos Populares festivals take place here during the month of June. Please be aware that during this period, the activity and noise levels are intensified.

￫ Building
A compact studio (40 square meters) on the 1st floor of a building with no elevator (access is made by steep stairs) and has the truly amazing feel of Alfama. It is an old building and, as such, has characteristics typical of its age, such as poor soundproofing.
The studio is perfect for couples or solo travelers seeking to stay in Lisbon's most traditional neighborhood.

Presence of dampness due to construction work in the adjacent building. Please ventilate the studio as much as possible during your stay.

￫ Bed
The apartment is a studio with a Double bed.

￫ Bathroom
Small bathroom with a shower. The bathroom has traditional Portuguese architecture, so the ceilings are low and it is not recommended for tall individuals or those with limited mobility: 1,82m at the entrace and 2,23m in the shower. Please note that it is an interior bathroom without windows, so we recommend keeping the door open whenever possible and airing out the studio frequently to prevent the accumulation of humidity and resulting odors from the showers.

The living room has a sofa bed prepared to receive 2 more guests and a dining table. Please note that there is no TV.

￫ Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, washing machine, iron, toaster, kettle and coffee maker (coffee not included).

Without that information we cannot guarantee you a prompt check-in, so your cooperation is very important.

The closest metro station is Santa Apolónia, which is about a 5-minute walk from Rua do Paraíso. This station is on the Blue Line (Linha Azul), offering direct connections to the city center and other key areas in Lisbon.
From Santa Apolónia, you can reach downtown areas like Baixa-Chiado or Marquês de Pombal easily.

Tram 28: One of the most famous tram lines in Lisbon, Tram 28, passes near Alfama. While it doesn't stop directly on Rua do Paraíso, you can catch it within a short walk. The tram offers a scenic route through the historic districts, including Graça, Baixa, and Chiado.
Tram 12: This tram line also services the Alfama area, offering another option to explore the historical part of the city.

Several bus routes are accessible from the nearby Santa Apolónia station. The most relevant ones include:
Bus 712: Connects Santa Apolónia with major areas like Praça do Chile and Campo Pequeno.
Bus 735: Runs between Cais do Sodré and the northern parts of Lisbon, including Campo Grande, passing through Santa Apolónia.
Bus 759: A route from Santa Apolónia to Restauradores, passing by important spots in the city.

The Santa Apolónia Train Station is a central hub for trains heading to northern Portugal, including destinations like Porto and Coimbra. It's a key station for both local and long-distance travel.

While not directly in Alfama, you can easily access the Cais do Sodré ferry terminal via the metro (Blue Line from Santa Apolónia) if you want to explore the south side of the Tagus River, such as Almada or Cacilhas.

Alfama is a neighborhood best explored on foot due to its narrow, winding streets that often can't accommodate large vehicles. Many attractions, like São Jorge Castle, the Fado Museum, and various viewpoints (miradouros), are within walking distance from Rua do Paraíso.

￫ The property is Self-Catered. Complimentary basic items are provided for your arrival, including first-day toiletries, toilet paper, etc. These items are offered on a welcome basis only - replacements or re-fills are not provided.
￫ Bed and bath linen are provided according to the number of guests confirmed in the reservation. For stays longer than 7 nights, additional bed and bath linen will be provided for free at the check-in.
￫ The Cleaning Fee included in your reservation covers the check-out cleaning only. Extra cleanings or fresh linens can be requested during your stay and are subject to an extra fee - these requests must be done with at least 24 hours in advance.
￫ Check-in time starts at 14:00. Only one set of keys will be provided.
￫ We are obligated by Portuguese law to collect our guest's Passport information.
￫ Check-out must be done until 11am. Before leaving, please place the keys inside the lockbox.
￫ During the stay, the guest is responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property's keys. Please avoid leaving them in the lock or mailbox. In the event that a specialized technician is needed for door opening or in case of damage to the key and/or lock, the costs associated with this service will be the responsibility of the guest. In case of key loss, a penalty will be applied.
￫ The property is equipped with noise decibel monitoring sensors. This system performs advanced analysis while ensuring the privacy of our guests, as no cameras are used, and no sound is recorded. Only noise levels are measured, thus guaranteeing the tranquility and comfort of everyone during their stay.
￫ Crib and baby chair are available upon request and subject to an extra fee.
￫ For stays equal to or longer than 28 days, monthly consumptions exceeding €150 will be charged separately. By making the reservation, the guest agrees to these terms.
