It has a terrace with views out towards the Martello tower and yacht club, perfect for a leisurely coffee or perhaps a sundowner after a busy day exploring the many delights of the Suffolk coast.

Set over the first and second floors, the apartment is reached via a shared staircase. Once inside you’ll find an open-plan lounge/diner with a leather corner sofa, TV, DVD, iPod dock, CD, radio and a table and chairs. The compact kitchen has been well-designed for practical cooking, and there’s also a separate cupboard containing a washer/dryer. On the same floor you’ll find the charming double bedroom, decorated in calm, soft tones for a restful night’s sleep, plus the family bathroom with a shower over the bath. From the living space a spiral staircase leads up to the second bedroom. This twin room also has a handy futon for an additional guest, plus a TV and DVD, and an en-suite WC. There is bench seating outside on the shared terrace, an ideal place to unwind in the fresh air.

In this picturesque town you’ll find a shingle beach where colourful fishing boats are pulled up and a wide high street filled with historic buildings. Explore the many boutiques, galleries and places to eat and drink, and walk the coast path to discover the famous Scallop sculpture on the beach, the 16th century moot hall and a converted windmill. If you walk far enough (about 2 miles), you’ll reach the fascinating 1920s village of Thorpeness. For family days out, you can hire a bike, rent a canoe or drive to Easton Farm Park, Southwold Maize Maze or Africa Alive, all within 23 miles.
