Upstairs, the landing has plenty of storage space and leads to the relaxing family bathroom and the two bright, colourfully decorated bedrooms: a pretty bunk bedroom and a cheerful king-size room which can be made up as a twin. From the dining area, a step up and through the French doors takes you onto the patio. With a table and chairs, this is a relaxing spot for a morning coffee as you get ready to discover this idyllic part of the magnificent Yorkshire coast.

Saltburn is a bustling resort dating back to Victorian times, with a range of great pubs, tearooms, boutique shops and restaurants. Along the seafront there are two lovely promenades, a famous pier, an amusement arcade and a gorgeous sandy beach – popular with surfers, water sports fans and sunbathers – as well as Italian-style gardens and a miniature railway. Heading inland, the North York Moors are just 5 miles south, with Flatts Lane Country Park, Westworth Reservoir and Warren Moor Mine all within 15 miles.
