Immerse yourself in nature at this duo of holiday retreats deep in rural Suffolk. You’ll be in the idyllic village of Middleton, with a great pub 500 metres away and wonderful countryside walks starting straight from your front door. The Suffolk Coast AONB is just 2 miles east, opening up ample opportunities for exploring the area’s sand dunes, beaches and wildlife-rich marshlands. The two properties have one super-king-size bedroom each, giving two couples or two single travellers plenty of space to kick back – both separately and as a group. With two dogs also welcome, you’ll be all set for a relaxing holiday with friends and loved ones.

Expect contemporary comfort combined with traditional charm inside these homely self-contained properties. Wooden ceiling beams provide a rustic touch while tasteful and colourful artwork creates a welcoming ambiance. Both kitchens feature modern appliances and Smeg coffee machines – perfect for that morning cuppa – and both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Outside, you’ll have access to a shared garden where you can enjoy fresh-air meals overlooking a scenic wild water meadow. The spacious grassy area is ideal for dogs to let off some steam.

You’ll find a handy farm shop 0.5 miles away and more amenities in Saxmundham (6 miles). There are plenty of picturesque villages to discover nearby, such as Yoxford (2.5 miles) with its antique shops and bookshops. Got a history buff in your party? Make a beeline for the abbey ruins at Sibton (4.5 miles) and Leiston (3.5 miles). When it’s time to hit the beach, Dunwich is only a 4-mile drive away, while Thorpeness (7 miles) is another great seaside option and also has a wonderful boating lake.
