An absolutely beautiful loft with everything you could need!
My husband and I had an amazing stay at the loft. We traveled to Dana Point for work and the loft was a perfect place for us to have our home base.
Dee & Zach were just so welcoming and made our stay so comfortable.
The loft was newly remodeled and in amazing condition. It was very clean and homey with a beach vibe.
The WIFI is very reliable and fast which was important to us.
I highly recommend this location and hope to stay again!!

Nice loft property
I stayed 5 weeks at the unit, Aug - Sept 2019. I was working in the area, and needed a place close to Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). The unit is one of several in a multi-flat property.
Property owners were exceptionally gracious and helpful. I was given a free upgrade to this unit, from a more modest one that I had originally booked. The unit I stayed in was nicely furnished and decorated. Kitchen and bath appeared to be new, and well-supplied with necessities. Superior-quality, ultra-quiet ceiling fans in living room and bedroom. A/C unit in LR.
The interior is laid out in a loft configuration. As you walk in the front door, you have the living room to your left. In front of you is a short flight of stairs, with a turn, up to the bedroom and adjoining bath. Walking through the LR, there is an open passage into the dining and kitchen area.
A few minor issues came up during my stay, all of which were immediately resolved.
Constructive criticism : the shower configuration is awkward and inconvenient. Shower walls don't go up very high, and there's no shower door or curtain. This limits how much handheld shower can be adjusted. I was forced to crouch over at the foot of the bathtub.
Also, the king-size bed was a little soft for me. I prefer at least a medium-firm mattress.
Street noise : property is at the foot of a hill, at the intersection where 2 residential streets come together. There wasn't much traffic at all, but there did seem to be a fair number of cars driving by early in the morning. I'm a light sleeper, so I had to wear earplugs. During the day, there was often a fair amount of construction noise either by the property handyman, or residential construction nearby.

Thank you for your excellent critique. I’m so glad that you enjoyed the space. I appreciate the constructive criticism because feedback allows us to make corrections and we appreciate the time you took from your day to give us this review. The two glass shower panels are standard height, however, when we designed the new bathroom we thought a door panel was unnecessary and cumbersome for the design look. It was a judgment call. Thanks to your feedback, we plan to add another panel. I have also wondered about the shower & control configuration confusing people, obviously you were unhappy with it and we plan to change that out as well. As for the construction, that was awful, the hillside house, one building away, was torn down! Bulldozers and trucks lined up in the early morning. It’s over now thank goodness. We had no idea that was going to happen or we would have warned you. It was unexpected for us as well. The new windows should have really helped, though I’m not sure if they were open or not. Either way, I’m sorry that it happened! The beds are purchased as firm. We have only had positive feedback on the bed from previous guests, but we will check it out and speak to the current guest to see if they also find it too soft. If so, we will change it out. Thank you for the constructive critique as we want to give our best to you our guest!

Unforgettable Experience in Dana Point!
I cannot say enough positive things about the Landlubbers Loft. I had the pleasure of hibernating here for Christmas and New Year. I spent my days gazing at the decor instead of spending it at the beach! I found the atmosphere to be inviting and soothing. There was a bookcase with many offerings for journeys of the mind and/or soul. I did not even watch the TV for the first two weeks because I loved the onscreen aquatic display too much to take it away! The lighting it provided was just perfect.
The highlight for me was the unforgettable mermaid lamp. I fell in love with her before I rented the unit, and she is why I chose to spend my holidays in Dana Point. I felt very blessed to be near her. Also, the whales in the house were so beautiful, I did not want to leave. I had groceries and food delivered despite plenty of offerings nearby. Postmates and Instacart were companies I chose to help me with my holiday hibernation.
Other highlights included the spa bathroom with its fascinating shower and bathtub experience; the extraordinary washer & dryer conveniently located in the unit; the extremely comfortable large bed with copious amounts of pillows; the kitchen with its soothing decor and everything you would need along with incredible appliances; and a private patio with great furniture.
Overall, the Landlubbers Loft offers an unforgettable, inviting, comfortable atmosphere with wood paneling and beautiful furnishings.

Picture perfect and close to everything
This is a fantastic 1BR loft property. Decor is charming and a thorough remodel provides all the amenities needed for a relaxing, comfortable stay. Our dogs enjoyed the park just a block away, and we walked to Dana Point's local restaurants and bars many nights in a row. Debra and Zach are fantastic hosts and responded to all our needs thoughtfully and promptly. Highly recommend the Loft for a carefree summer in a beautiful town!

Wonderful, remodeled loft in Dana Point
My husband and I (and our dog and cat) stayed at this cute place for a month. It was super clean and the kitchen was stocked with the right pots, pans, and other kitchenware to make food prep easy. The bed was comfy and we slept well every night. The owners were quick to help us get the broken dishwasher repaired.
