Villa Eugenia Suite 2 is a spacious and comfortable apartment located in a standalone villa. From the windows of this apartment, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the lake and the garden with its trees. The interiors are furnished in a modern and functional style with a rustic touch enhanced by decorations and paintings. All these elements make the apartment an ideal place to spend your holiday on Lake Como. Here, moments of peace and relaxation await you to make your holiday unique and unforgettable. This apartment can accommodate up to four people. There are two double bedrooms, one of which has a private bathroom with a shower, a living room with a comfortable sofa and a large smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen - fridge, dishwasher, oven, kettle, microwave, etc., a bathroom with a shower, and a laundry room where you will find a washing machine. Free Wi-Fi is available to guests. From the main road you will need to walk approximately two hundred metres along a private path to reach the property. Once you pass through the pedestrian gate, you will have to go down three flights of stone stairs - a total of 30 steps. The apartment does not have private parking, but you can park your car for free nearby along the main road - only within the white-marked spaces, as parking delimited by yellow lines is reserved for residents only.

Lake Como is a fascinating destination all year round, with the best times to visit being Spring, Summer, and Autumn:

Spring (March - May): Spring is a wonderful time to visit Lake Como. The weather becomes milder, and nature awakens with blooming flowers and breathtaking scenery. It’s a perfect season for hiking, cycling, exploring gardens and historic villas, visiting picturesque lakeside villages, and taking boat trips.

Summer (June - August): Summer is a lively season full of outdoor activities, cultural events, and opportunities to enjoy the lake’s natural beauty. The warmer temperatures are ideal for swimming, water sports, boating, hiking, cycling, visiting gardens and historic villas, and exploring charming lakeside villages.

Autumn (September - October): Autumn offers mild weather and spectacular landscapes with the changing colors of the leaves. With fewer tourists than in summer, September and October are particularly pleasant for hiking, cycling, visiting gardens and historic villas, exploring lakeside villages, and enjoying boat trips.

NEIGHBORHOOD

The property is situated in Carate Urio and is located on the western shore of Lake Como. Carate Urio is a small town with a rich history. Its narrow streets are lined with ancient stone houses. As the sun sets behind the mountains, the town is bathed in a warm golden light.

GETTING AROUND

For our guests' convenience, we suggest arriving by car. Alternatively, it is possible to take the bus or ferry to travel around. ASF Autolinee buses are in operation in the area. Tickets can be obtained from the driver (cash only) or in designated places (see their website). Taxis are also available, but not easily attainable in the region.

From the “Urio” pier, a local ferry service will take you to Como and some other lakeside towns. Tickets can also be bought online on the Navigazione Laghi website.

From Como San Giovanni station, there are regular trains departing to Milano Centrale and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). From Como Nord Lago, there is a train connection to Milano Cadorna.

The nearest airports are Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. It is possible to arrange a direct shuttle to and from the airport at an additional cost.

TIPS

>We advise you to take a day to visit the marvelous little towns around the lake. Como city is the urban centre of the area, but the little towns are gems with glorious lakeside villas.

>To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the little towns, comfortable shoes are a must.

>There are many public drinking-water fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless stated otherwise. Tap water is also drinkable. You can carry your own refillable bottle!

>If you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area and want to enjoy mountain views anyway, Lake Como Greenway is an easy-to-follow trail that doesn't require too much walking uphill. It connects the little towns from Colonno to Griante. A bus will take you from Carate Urio to the starting point in Colonno.

>Look for traditional restaurants where you can try local foods such as Lake Como fish dishes.

>In Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.

>Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. There are beaches in other lakeside towns.

Lido di Bellagio and pebbly San Giovanni beach will be waiting for those who wish to travel and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio which lies in the middle of the two Larian branches. Locals and visitors also enjoy travelling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

>Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. Be particularly attentive to the weather when hiking, and bring some warm and waterproof clothes with you!
