Close to everything you need-a 2 minute walk from Ard Na Sidhe Country House Hotel, Killorglin is just 10 minutes away, and Killarney is an easy drive. Whether you're hiking MacGillycuddy’s Reeks, exploring the Ring of Kerry, or hosting a team retreat, this spot is both inspiring and peaceful. Caragh Lake House is a spacious and stylish property designed for small, medium and large groups, offering a perfect blend of comfort and privacy. The house is built on a single level, making it exceptionally accessible and creating a wonderful sense of flow and connection between all the living spaces. Accommodation: The house features six beautifully appointed bedrooms and six bathrooms, providing ample space for up to 12 guests. We can accommodate different bedding configurations to suit your group's needs. All beds are equipped with cozy goose-down quilts and 100% cotton sateen linen for a restful night's sleep. Versatile Living Spaces: Our home is designed for both gathering and quiet moments. Main Living Area: The central living room is a highlight, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to the terrace and a large stone fireplace, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. The space is fully furnished with tasteful furniture and original paintings. Second Living Area: A second, open-plan living and dining space in the other wing of the house offers a quieter, more intimate feel. Dining: The formal dining room features large floor-to-ceiling windows and antique furniture, creating the ideal setting for long, lazy lunches and magical evening meals with friends. A separate casual dining area is also available for more relaxed meals. Known as the "Gateway to the Ring of Kerry," Killorglin is famous for its lively pubs, excellent restaurants, and unique local shops. Glenbeigh: The charming village of Glenbeigh is also just a 10-minute drive from the house. Here, you can find a lively pub, restaurants, a local shop, and a fantastic bakery. Don't miss the famous Rossbeigh Beach, a stunning Blue Flag beach just a short distance from the village. Killarney: For a day of exploration, the bustling town of Killarney is approximately a 30-minute drive. Here you can visit Killarney National Park, Muckross House, and Ross Castle. Golf: Golf enthusiasts will be in heaven, with world-class links courses within easy reach, including the renowned Dooks Golf Links, which is just a 10-minute drive away. Formed by glacial activity, the lake sits in a deep valley, surrounded by the towering peaks of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks. This natural setting creates a sense of wildness and tranquility that is truly unique. On a still morning, the reflections of the mountains on the water are simply breathtaking. The lake's clear, clean water is ideal for a refreshing "wild swim," and its shores are home to a rich variety of native flora and fauna. On the Water Activities Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a curious first-timer, the lake offers endless opportunities. Fishing: Caragh Lake is renowned for its excellent fishing for Atlantic salmon, sea trout, and brown trout. While fishing on the lake itself is generally free, a salmon and sea trout license is required. For the best experience, we recommend consulting a local guide. Kayaking & Canoeing: Glide across the pristine waters and discover the lake's small, picturesque islands, such as Illaunbuddoga and Robert's Island. Local providers like Caragh Outdoors offer guided tours, including magical sunset trips. Hiking and Walking You don’t have to go far to find an incredible walk. Panoramic Views: For a rewarding short hike, take on the Mountain Spur Trail. A moderate climb reveals a stunning 360-degree view that includes the entire lake, the Dingle Peninsula, and even the distant Atlantic Ocean. The Kerry Way: We are a perfect stopping point for those walking a section of the famous Kerry Way, a 214-kilometre trail. Use our home as a base to explore some of the most scenic stages of the route. Conquering the Reeks: For the ultimate adventure, guests can arrange a guided ascent of Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain, which is located nearby. Local Culture & Nearby Attractions Experience the real Kerry by venturing to the nearby villages and towns. Killorglin (15 mins drive): This lively market town is the home of Puck Fair, one of Ireland's oldest and most unusual festivals where a wild goat is crowned king for three days. The town also has a fantastic selection of traditional pubs and charming local restaurants. Local Dining: We highly recommend a special meal at Carrig Country House, located right on the lake, or exploring some of the excellent eateries in Killorglin, such as The Bianconi or Bunker's Bar & Restaurant. Off the Beaten Path: Drive the scenic route that hugs the lake, a more intimate and quiet alternative to the main Ring of Kerry road, and find a perfect spot for a quiet picnic.
