Beautiful new cottage with coastal walks, beaches, golf and Wild Atlantic Way.
Newly renovated 2 bedroom traditional style cottage on the west Coast of Kerry along the Ring of Kerry and Wild Atlantic Way. The busy town of Killarney is a 30 minute drive, as is Kerry Airport. Neighbouring is the old fishing community of Cromane with its beach, its walks and local restaurant. Dooks is a townland in the heart of Mid-Kerry, 5 minutes to the charming village of Glenbeigh with a number of shops, bars & restaurants, also the famous Blue Flag Rossbeigh Beach. Horse trekking, hill walking, boating at Carragh Lake, golf at the famous Dooks Golf Course all in the area. Further west offers further attractions, rural village communities, the beautiful Kerry landscape, the patchwork of green fields, the mountainous walks and trails, also a visit to Valentia Island with boat crossings to the World Heritage Skellig Island.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Pam is a great host and is very responsive. The house was very clean, well maintained and welcoming. It is about a 10 minute drive to the Ring of Kerry Road.We highly recommend.
The house is lovely and perfect for a family. The location is excellent if you are looking to stay somewhere not right in town, but still close to things. It is also well situated for a nice walk to see neighboring farms, including a friendly pony and donkey pair. Pam is a generous host - she baked us traditional Irish brown bread and stocked the kitchen with a couple of staples. The house had everything we needed and we really enjoyed it.
When I was young my family always hosted guests, in a sense we grew up with it. Its very rewarding to see people enjoy a break and play a very small part in that.
This is a small community along the coast of County Kerry. We live in the Iveragh Peninsula which is one of a number of peninsulas in the south west of Ireland. It is a gateway to a wild and beautiful landscape and rugged coastline which is part of the Wild Atlantic Way. We live very close to Dooks Golf Course, this is one of a number of famous links golf courses which a great many golfers enjoy playing along the west coast of Ireland. We are also approx a 40 mins drive to the village of Portmagee where the boats depart for a visit to Skellig Michael. Also why not enjoy a picnic with one of the great number of walks, treks, mountain walks in the area, we are approx 30 minutes from the National Park of Killarney, this offers an opportunity to visit Muckross House, visit an example of an old Traditional Farm or enjoy the beautiful gardens or the walks that extend from the car park.
