à propos de cet hébergement
A characterful detached cottage-style home with private wood fired hot tub and sauna, offering comfortable accommodation for up to six guests.
Cailleachâs Croft is a historic, detached cottage for six, nestled on the edge of Glen Dye Forest with stunning views and direct access to walking trails. Inside, it offers a large kitchen, cosy sitting and dining rooms, a family bathroom, and a downstairs loo. A converted outbuilding serves as a studio or chill-out space with a wood burner. Outside, enjoy a private wood-fired sauna with cold shower and a hot tub under the stars. Guests also have access to the estates pub.
Wild Glen Retreat is a private estate nestled deep in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by 30,000 acres of wilderness where the River Dye winds through ancient pine forests, heather-covered hills, and expansive moorland. This is a place where the landscape feels untouched-rich in wildlife, steeped in history, and full of the quiet magic that only true remoteness can bring. From every direction, the views stretch for miles: wooded glens, rolling hills, and ever-changing skies that move dramatically from golden morning light to long, luminous sunsets.
The area offers a wealth of outdoor adventure right from your doorstep. Hike to nearby waterfalls, cycle quiet forestry tracks, or wild swim in the river. There are trails for every pace-0from gentle woodland strolls to challenging hill climbs like nearby Clachnaben, with its dramatic granite tor and panoramic summit views. The estate itself is a living, working environment: gather eggs from hens, pick veg in season from the garden, and meet friendly neighbours at the estateâs own rustic pub. Whether youâre exploring on foot, sitting by the fire with a book, or simply watching the clouds drift over the hills, we invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and feel the landscape work its quiet spell.
Extra estate activities include: Bushcraft, Venison masterclass, Forest bathing, Archery tag, Salmon and Sea trout fishing, bike hire, axe throwing, cuttlefish casting, Vinyasa yoga, Whiskey tasting, Flower and wreath making, Art classes, Willow weaving and basket making, and a small cinema is available for private hire.
Once the booking is confirmed the Birch Stays team would be delighted to help arrange your extra activities and make your holiday truly unforgettable.
Cailleachâs Croft offers spacious accommodations with a large kitchen, dining area, comfortable sitting room, an upstairs family bathroom, and a downstairs toilet. Additionally, thereâs a converted outbuilding that serves as an artistâs and writerâs studio, complete with a wood burner, alongside a private wood-fired sauna with a cold shower and a wood-fired hot tub for total relaxation.
Located just 4 miles from the heart of Wild Glen Retreat and nestled on the edge of Glen Dye forest, the property boasts stunning views and countless walking trails. Guests have access to the estates own traditional Scottish pub, with a log fire and record player, plus Garden Camp, a shared space featuring outdoor games and a warm indoor retreat. Seasonal vegetables, fresh eggs, and local produce are available on-site, and the nearby Discovery and Adventure Centre offers private electric sauna sessions with cold showers and plunge pools for a rejuvenating experience.
