à propos de cet hébergement
Awarding winning countryside home sleeping 6. BBQ and wood fired hot tub. Pet friendly.
This spacious house features an open-plan living and dining area with a striking south-facing picture window, offering beautiful views and plenty of natural light. One bathroom is fully accessible, ensuring comfort for all guests. Outside, the private back yard includes a Big Green Egg BBQ and a wood-fired hot tubâperfect for relaxing in total seclusion. Wild Glen House was designed by Young Architects of the Year NORD in 2012. Sleeping 6.
Wild Glen Retreat is a private estate nestled deep in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by 30,000 acres of wilderness where the River Dye winds through ancient pine forests, heather-covered hills, and expansive moorland. This is a place where the landscape feels untouchedârich in wildlife, steeped in history, and full of the quiet magic that only true remoteness can bring. From every direction, the views stretch for miles: wooded glens, rolling hills, and ever-changing skies that move dramatically from golden morning light to long, luminous sunsets.
The area offers a wealth of outdoor adventure right from your doorstep. Hike to nearby waterfalls, cycle quiet forestry tracks, or wild swim in the river. There are trails for every paceâfrom gentle woodland strolls to challenging hill climbs like nearby Clachnaben, with its dramatic granite tor and panoramic summit views. The estate itself is a living, working environment: gather eggs from hens, pick veg in season from the garden, and meet friendly neighbours at the Glen Dye Arms, the estateâs own rustic pub. Whether youâre exploring on foot, sitting by the fire with a book, or simply watching the clouds drift over the hills, Glen Dye invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and feel the landscape work its quiet spell.
Extra estate activities include: Bushcraft, Venison masterclass, Forest bathing, Archery tag, Salmon and Sea trout fishing, bike hire, axe throwing, cuttlefish casting, Vinyasa yoga, Whiskey tasting, Flower and wreath making, Art classes, Willow weaving and basket making, and a small cinema is available for private hire.
Once the booking is confirmed the Birch Stays team would be delighted to help arrange your extra activities and make your holiday truly unforgettable.
The house centres on a bright, open-plan sitting and dining area with a soaring cathedral ceiling and a vast south-facing picture window framing views of heather-clad hills. Deep sofas, a long farmhouse table, and a wood-burner make it a cosy retreat in any season, while an adjacent accessible bathroom ensures comfort for all guests. Outside, a private stone-walled courtyard invites you to cook on the Big Green Egg and soak in the cedar-clad, wood-fired hot tub under a canopy of stars.
Just beyond the doorstep, shared spaces add a touch of Highland charm. Stroll to on site pub, with its roaring fire and vintage record player, or head to Garden Camp for lawn games, board games, and rainy-day reading by the stove. Guests can gather fresh eggs, pick from the vegetable garden, and visit the well-stocked General Stores. For deep relaxation, book the electric sauna and cold plunge tanks at the Discovery & Adventure Centre before wandering home through the pines to your fire-lit haven.
