à propos de cet hébergement
Marea - Trois Chambres Villa, Couchages 6
A luminous, stylish villa with sea views and direct access to a quiet sandy beach.
At Marea, bright elegant interiors spill out onto a long shady verandah from where you may happily survey emerald green lawns and the tempting turquoise sea. These two elements are linked via a path leading from the garden down to a glorious sandy beach, winner of successive Blue Flag awards. All in all, an exemplary family summer house.
Inside: accommodation at Marea is all on one level. The main entrance takes one directly into a large welcoming living area, whose high white-beamed ceilings, comfy sofas and wall-to-wall sliding glass doors accessing the shady verandah combine to create an extremely airy and light-filled atmosphere.
At one end of the living area is the spacious, well-equipped kitchen-diner, which seamlessly connects to the main al fresco dining area. A door at the opposite end of the living room opens into the main bedroom with a four-poster bed, in-room shower and en-suite bathroom.
Another door in the living area leads to a hallway, which acts as the main hub for the rest of the accommodation at Marea: a shower room, a bright double bedroom and a children's room with bunk beds and en-suite shower room. Furnishings and decorative elements are at once eclectic and unfussy, subtly underscoring Marea's beach house soul.
Outside: any description of Marea's outdoor areas must begin with the long shady verandah that runs along the entire façade of the house. Here, accessed from both the living room and the kitchen-diner, are some superbly comfortable day beds for reclining, snoozing, reading or gazing out to sea, and a large dining table for leisurely breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
To the front and on one side of the house is a large lawn surrounding a proud, centuries-old olive tree. Marea's magical added value begins at the end of the garden, where an easy path takes you down a long, wide expanse of sand, lapped by the enticing, shallow waters of the azure Mediterranean Sea.
The beaches in the area of Pozzallo and Ispica (including the beach outside the house) have received several consecutive "Bandiere Blu", attesting to the cleanliness of the water and their general ecological excellence. The path to the beach passes along the property and is accessible directly from the garden gate. Please note that this is a public path (albeit quiet) and that it is unpaved in places, and there are several drops along the way.
Road noise is audible from the property's grounds. The volume may rise or fall depending on climactic conditions such as wind direction.
Please note that this villa does not have a pool.
Marea is situated just a few miles from Capo Passero, whose lighthouse signals Italyâs southernmost point â considerably further south than Tunis.
The coast is almost entirely given over to long sandy beaches, the very same ones landed on by British and Canadian forces during Operation Huskey in the 2nd World War.
Just to the west is the port of Pozzallo, from where, in just 90mins by hydrofoil, it is possible to get to Malta. To the north is the splendid Baroque town of Noto, Syracuse, once the mightiest city in Magna Graecia and Vendicari Nature Reserve, home to beautiful unspoilt beaches, migrating flamingos and nesting turtles.
Less than an hour's drive to the west are the other splendid towns of the Val di Noto UNESCO Heritage Site, Modica and Scicli, and, a little further afield, Ragusa.
The beaches in the area of Pozzallo and Ispica (including the one right below the villa) have received several consecutive "Bandiere Blu", attesting to the cleanliness of the water and their general ecological excellence.
