We loved this home - it was set up really well and very comfortable for our family of 5 adults. Location was conveniently located to all of our planned activities. Highly recommend
Couldnât have asked for a better place to call home during our eight night stay in AK. The house was clean, cozy, and well equipped. We had zero issues. Max was quick to respond to questions during booking and perfectly polite. Weâd definitely choose Chugach Foothills Chalet for our next family adventure to AK.
Quiet Suburban Home near Anchorage and Chugach State Park
The home is well situated to get to either Anchorage city or hiking at Chugach State Park. The interior provides a welcoming regional design with stone and wood walls and ceilings and the large screen TV is a cool amenity to relax with after a day of sightseeing and hiking. Be sure to bring sleep masks in the summer as the daylight never goes away. It was also nice knowing that the Owner was always nearby, but unobtrusive, should we have had any questions or concerns..
The home is clean, beds were very comfortable, nice sheets and towels. The kitchen is very well stocked. The pots and pans were very good quality. There were many spices, foil, ziplock bags, Saran Wrap and wax paper. There is a keurig with coffee pods. Nice washer and dryer. Quiet culdesac and dark blinds made for a good nights sleep. We spent 7 nights at the home and it was perfect for our needs. Carrâs (Safeway) and Fred Meyer are close. There are many parks nearby, which was important to my granddaughter. The furniture was comfortable for watching the large screen TV, when we were unwinding in the evening. I would stay here again.
The property is fair overall, but I would not stay again. The updated portion of the house is nice, but there was an odor and the dated bedrooms with old carpets and dirty comforters had strong odors and was hard on those of us with allergies. We didnât cook, but the kitchen appeared nicely stocked, and we had plenty of towels and wash cloths. The biggest problem was the molded showerâŠWe didnât use the primary shower due to the presence of lots of black mold, so five of us shared the tub shower.
Just so you know, the toilets are old and very short, so it is hard on the knees of older people or those of us with bad knees.
While I would not stay here again, I rated this home four stars because others may not feel the same way, and I donât want to discourage guests if they donât mind smells and mold.
This home is in a quiet neighborhood with access to trails. Great home base with everything you need. Plenty of seating for a large family and all kitchen needs provided.
Located in a quiet family neighborhood.
Max was easy to contact and communicate with. The house was great, as pictured and described. We would definitely rent again.
Host went above and beyond. Felt like home away from home. House was spotless and very nice. We enjoyed how well stocked it was. We could cook all our meals easily and enjoyed the big grill outside.
Max has done a great job with this house. Very clean, updated, furnished. Newer appliances. I would definitely stay here again when returning to Anchorage.
This was a wonderful rental that I would highly recommend. It was in a quiet neighborhood but had easy access to the major highways. Our family throughly enjoyed our stay.
This house was certainly a pleasant experience. It was comfortable with lots of room and privacy for all. Amenities were plentiful and perfect. Max has thought of everything. The guide books and brochures helped with our activities. We may never stay in an inn again. Definitely 5 STARS!!
Loved our stay! Matt was great to work with and accessible, and the location was great for all of our planned activities, and close to the airport. We highly recommend!
Max is a great host and this is a really nice, well equipped house in a quiet neighborhood. It is very convenient to downtown Anchorage and has grocery shopping, etc nearby.
We rented this house for a family reunion. 4 adults and 1 child. The house was spacious and full of anything we could possibly need for the week. Grocery shopping was easy with CARRS about a mile away and Fred Meyer a couple miles away. We loved the decor of the house.
Max was very responsive. The first morning we were there the Keurig broke and I called Max to see if he had another coffee maker available. He delivered a new Keurig to the house that evening. I would definitely recommend this house to others and choose to stay here again.
This was a great place to stay! It was very clean and quiet! It was just the right size and was conveniently located! It felt like a home away from home!
Max's chalet was exactly as described and an ideal location for the Mayor's Marathon. I would strongly recommend this location as a base camp for any south-central Alaskan vacation, whether you are doing the marathon or not. Lastly, Max was easy to work with. So grateful for the opportunity.
I'm a life long Alaskan with detailed knowledge of the local area and outdoor activities. I look forward to assisting you with your Alaskan dream adventure!
