This property has wonderful views. It also provided Everything we needed in the kitchen and for the grill. The fire pit was great and we enjoyed the hot tub.
We gathered 15 people for Christmas in this lovely home. The setting was amazing, the home is beautiful, the views are gorgeous, and the hot tub was hot. House was very clean and as described in the listing. The whole family was delighted!
We had a large group of 19 with friends and family combined with all 6 bathrooms everyone found a space to be comfortable and the game room and hot tub were great to have access too. Thank you for sharing your vacation home.
Very spacious for larges groups, BEAUTIFUL views! 2nd trip here and will definitely be back! It's always clean upon arrival. Iv never had any issues when staying.
Bathrooms need to be cleaned better. The price is consistent for a fairly old but preserved structure. The bathrooms could be restored to improve the conditions of the house. the dryer has a strange smell. In general all good. The excellent kitchen. The bbq area is perfect.
Cleanliness could do a little better- especially with wood flooring. Ramp goin into cabin was great but Iâm 5â2 and small level of mobility issues and beds were so high I had hard time gettin in and out. Other than that it was great!!!
This cabin has an amazing view that canât be beat and perfectly held 20 family members ranging in ages 4-60. TVs are in every room and the kitchen has basic cooking supplies. All but one bedroom is linked for access so no real privacy but you expect that with 20 family members in one house. The view can not be beat from the patio area. We even had a bear visit and circle the house 2 out of the 3 days we were there. The only negative I would note is that there is no barrier of any kind down the slope so if you have children watch them closely because if you slip off of the patio thereâs no climbing down for a rescue. I would rent this location again just not with the children.
Property was not clean upon arrival. Bugs were on the floor and in the beds. Smell was horrible. After talking with property manager it would be hour late r more to round up people to clean the property. We did not stay at this property.
We enjoyed the accommodations at the lodge. I love the location. Some of the pots has caked on food but we needed the bigger pots for a bigger group so we washed it and used it. Not impressed with the quality or usefulness of cook wear...if you have a larger group (we had 12) be prepared to bring griddle, bigger sheet pans, things like that. Also, be aware that the 4 of the 5 bedrooms are adjoining and you will have to go through bedrooms to get to other rooms. The front ramp was slick in the rain and we had someone slip...they were fine but there's no hand rail or grips on the ramp. The space was great, the location incredible, and the view was fantastic. For how reasonable the price was l would return.
We had a good experience. Had a issue with heater and they corrected it within an hour. Location was great. Close to town but not too close. Would highly recommend!
This property was lovely; the scenery is incredible. The layout of the house is wonderful. The only downside was that we could hear EVERYTHING that was happening upstairs while we were trying to sleep downstairs.
Older model cabin but loved it. Felt relaxing other then cramped hotels. Needs a little tlc as the rockers are falling apart and drains are slow but still love the quiet. The drive up the road is scary the first time but get use to it. Steep one veh wide drive up and down. The disappointment is we didn't see a bear.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I'll break down my review into a few sections: our group (to discuss what we needed), what we loved, and what we encourage the owners to consider updating.
I had a family of 14 people rent out this cabin over Easter weekend. We had 10 adults and 14 kids (2, 5, 6 and 8). We really wanted a cabin big enough for the 5 families to have their own room, so the space was great and accommodated all of us well. Cathy was very responsive to all my questions along the way and was flexible about adding one more night to our stay last minute.
The location was so great. The town of Townsend has neat shops and a short little trail that's accessible from the cabin. Relatively close to a lot of gems and the view of the mountains was absolutely breathtaking (although there is a highway that sort of interrupts the beauty of mother nature that you can see from the cabin). We enjoyed the firepit and the hot tub. The kitchen is beautifully stocked with everything you need (tons of plates, glasses, silverware, etc). We cooked several meals and even baked a few sweets. We were able to drive to Gatlinburg as well as the Smoky Mountains National Park. A few of us even went to Dollywood. Having a washer and dryer was amazing as well as several linens for a group our size.
With all that being said, the cabin is in need of many improvements. To begin with, some of our bathrooms could have been cleaner and we couldn't really tell if the bathroom on the first floor was leaking. My mother's sheets seemed unwashed. The grill was filthy and all the picnic tables were not wiped down and were extremely dirty (we did call the office about this and they apologized). Some of the furniture outside were unstable (wooden benches and rocking chairs seemed to be falling apart and unsafe to even have out). The doors were a nightmare as many of them didn't close. Some of the beds had dips and humps in them and were incredibly uncomfortable. The kitchen sink didn't drain well.
Other misc. items just for the next group renting this cabin: The foosball table was great, but we were playing with table tennis balls which doesn't do the game any sort of justice. The pool sticks are crooked and the table seemed unstable (really worn out). Some of the shower curtains had stains and the dishwasher left some residue on the dishes. We couldn't find the iron.
I would recommend cautiously. It's obvious that this place is constantly being booked.
The cabin was nice and clean. When we got there we found a couple small lizards running in the kitchen but wasnt hard to place them outside. We traveled everyday to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge but did manage to build a couple fires with the wood that was supplied. Beds were very comfortable and cabin was provided with all the amenities we needed. If you are looking for quiet and relaxing this is the place
It was a gorgeous location and a gorgeous view. The rooms with the bunk beds connect to the bedroom next to it; there is no separate door to get in and out of those rooms. So you have to walk through one room to get to the next room.
