Beautiful London Kew houseboat in a great location with stunning Thames views
Stylishly presented and with all creature comforts, our home is warm, cosy and relaxing with incredible views and wildlife on the doorstep - all within 30 minutes of central London. The local area has great pubs and walks with Kew Gardens literally on the doorstep, Richmond a lovely river walk away. We have an amazing whole foods supermarket a few minutes away and Chiswick and Brentford are close by for more shops, bars and restaurants. The train station is a 5 minute walk with direct trains into Waterloo in 25 minutes. Living on the river in London is unique, you'll have the full experience complete with tides, lots of bird life and boats, kayaks and paddle boards! Ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of central London at the end of a day out, or if you are working we have high speed internet access and amazing views to distract you. Even when it is cold and wet outside the aspect is stunning and there is also a roof terrace for the warmer days and nights. We have a pretty, private garden mooring with access to our houseboat over a moveable ramp. Our living space has panoramic views out onto the river with large sliding doors and an open plan kitchen/dining/living space. Each bedroom has a big porthole, a kingsize bed and storage space. We have a bathroom with a freestanding claw foot bath (always a surprise on a boat!) and a shower room, so lots of scope for privacy. Living on the water has its idiosyncrasies but we are on hand if needed and are fully connected to all amenities with under floor heating and all the usual appliances. We also have car parking if required and there is easy access coming into London on the M4 if you are travelling by car. River dwelling is not best suited for small children or animals and there are windows that open out straight onto the water, as well as a ramp to access the property. It is therefore not suitable for wheelchairs.
We had such a magical time on Leonora and Nicolaâs boat. It was a wonderful setting, and great to enjoy the rhythms of the tide and watch the birds doing their thing. Even saw a fox on one occasion. The boat itself is really comfortable, beautifully renovated. We are used to complete quietness at home, but despite all the creaks and gurgles of the boat and outside city noises it was incredibly peaceful. Just what is needed after walking around busy London. Getting into the city was a breeze, with buses and tubes easy to navigate. We would definitely recommend getting the boat from Kew pier, that was such an interesting way to see West London. Also in terms of walks and pubs, head east, under the bridge to Strand on the Green. The sunset in the evening from the third pub down was magnificent. One tip for Leonora and Nicola is to take a photo of the outside seating up top, it was really comfy and great to have. Thanks to them both for their hospitality, they are lovely hosts.
