The property is exactly as advertised. It is a hidden gem tucked away not far from the hustle and bustle of Austin. It was great to be in Austin when the Texas Longhorns won the College Softball World Series (see photo of UT Tower lit up). We actually got to meet the owner, he is salt of the earth and great to visit with. Trust us, this spot is worth every single penny! We will be back!
The owner/manager was very easy to deal with. The property was comfortable and clean and had everything that we needed. The best part about the property was the location. It was close to downtown Austin and close to everything! We will definitely return. Thanks Doug.
We had a great stay at the cabin. It's close to many attractions, but far enough to avoid the noise of downtown. Cabin is perfect - clean, comfortable, all the necessities. Highly recommended.
Felt so private and almost âin the countryâ in the middle of downtown. Walking distance to some really cool restaurants and the park đ Comfortable bed and pillows, clean and well-stocked. Host was very easy to get ahold of and communicated well. Will definitely stay again!
My husband and I had an amazing time in Austin for the first time, and we accredit part of that to our perfect stay location. Doug was a great host and again, you canât beat the location!
Dougâs cabin was the perfect place for our weekend visit! It was comfortable and well-set up, and we appreciated having the small kitchen. The bed was also very comfortable. Itâs also a fantastic location, close to almost everything we wanted to do, but we especially loved walking over to Zilker for a long walk to start each morning. Weâd love to stay here again!
Close to everything, walkable to great food and easy access to the main roads around town
Lovely quiet place with Alm the amenities. Great host who checked in with me and great bed and shower.Nice to have the washer dryer over my 11 day stay. I will be back
We enjoyed staying. The location was excellent and it was very clean. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. There was tea! That is a minor detail. The place worked great for us and our needs!
The location is the greatest part about this place. Very central, which was super convenient for me as I had commitments in both South, North, and East parts of Austin.
We LOVED walking right to Lady Bird Lake Trail and couldn't believe how close it was.
Only issue I'd like to raise is, that the TV was a bit difficult to figure out. I think the remote's batteries died and we didn't find AAA batteries in the place, so had to manually click the TV to change channels. Not a huge bummer, but I thought I'd flag it for the owner!
The communication from the hosts was exceptional. Thank you!
Very cozy cabin in the middle of the city but you feel like you have space. Lots to do around and easy to get to places by walking or rideshare. Doug was great communicating the whole time. We will be back!
This is a winderful place to stay. Well planned space with a comfortable bed, nice front porch and great bathroom set up. Location is superb. Would love to stay here again. Host is accommodating and communicates well.
Doug was an excellent host. We had a really great time. Itâs a cute cabin. Itâs rustic and could use an updating but it certainly Served its purpose and we felt very safe. I appreciated the washer/dryer as I hate returning home with a bag of dirty clothes
We loved our little Austin cabin while in town for a wedding. It was a great place to come back to each night and had everything we needed. And Doug was a great communicator!
I am a life-long Texan. I grew up in Beaumont but have lived almost continuously in Austin since 1975; most of that time in the same home where I still live. I graduated from UT, have two grown children and one grandchild. I retired in 2014 and now work as a consultant when I'm not traveling.
The cabin I am renting was originally a "barn" in the rear of the same lot my 100+ year-old bungalow sits. The house has been my home for over 30 years, where I raised my children, and hope that they may continue to enjoy for many years to come. I remodeled the "barn" into a guest cottage for extra space for friends and family. It is also an ideal space to host guest travelers.
This is the type of place that the adage "location, location, location" was coined for. For someone wanting to enjoy all that is special about Austin, you cannot ask for a better spot.
