Can Maria de Montgri is the perfect example of a holiday home, where it is hard to describe how amazing a house you will find. From the quiet anonymous entrance from the village square, Can Maria is like a flower blooming in front of you. It is so surprising how big it is, and the beautiful hall with at least 3 meters to the roof, give you a cool and fresh welcome, especially when you arrive on a hot day.

Can Maria de Montgrí is a very large and luxuriously furnished holiday home on the Costa Brava Coast with room for 9 people spread over 5 bedrooms. The holiday villa has a size of 680 m2, and despite the fact that it is located in a small, authentic village, the garden has a size of 640 m2 - so there is plenty of space for the holiday group to play and enjoy the outdoor life. If this is not enough, there is also a pool of 72 m2, which is sure to be a hit amongst both children and adults. Otherwise, there are just 7 km to the fantastic beach “L' Escala”.

The garden is very pretty, well-kept and, as mentioned before, large compared to the holiday home’s location in a minor village. There are several seating areas: E.g., there is a small table with chairs placed in the shade of the surrounding trees, where you can take a break from the mostly clear sky and warm sun. In total, there are 3 patio areas on the property - one of them has a BBQ , where the dinner can be prepared and then enjoyed in the warm, evening sun.

You can also cool off in the 12 meters long and 6 meters wide swimming pool. The depth varies from 1.5 m to 2.5 m, so there is lots of space for various activities and for playing in the pool. Next to the pool, there is a "utility room" with bathrooms and showers. This means you do not have to go all the way into the house, and after beach visits, you can just take a quick shower here - without dragging sand into the holiday home. The swimming pool has interior lightning, so you can swim without problems in the evenings.

When you enter Can Maria de Montrí, you are met by a very beautiful hall with classic stone floor. Right of the entrance, there is one of the three lounge areas of the house. This has a very unique, vaulted stone ceiling. Here are some very comfortable and stylish furniture, and the living room flows over into a mini library where you can read a book in this very spacious room. From here, there is access to two other rooms: Firstly, there is a game room with a pool table and a music system. Next to this, there is a lounge area with a sofa, a dining table with room for 10, and a curved ceiling. In this room, one of the walls are made ​​of glass, providing a marvelous, panoramic view of the garden and the countryside. Furthermore, there is air conditioning in the room. You can also choose to take a few steps forward, thereby to get out on the terrace and enjoy the sun. From here, you can keep an eye on the kids in the pool, and there is a staircase to the right leading to the garden.

In the aforementioned entrance hall, there is a rustic staircase of stone, leading to the first floor where the comfortable bedrooms of the holiday home are located. In total, there are 4 double rooms and 1 single room. Spread over these, there are 3 double beds and 3 single beds. It is possible to have one extra bed installed in one of the double rooms. Common for all bedrooms is their spaciousness and the beautiful, sloping and beamed ceiling.

On the same floor, the first floor, there is a very comfortable and cozy living room with open fireplace, comfortable sofas and a TV. Just behind the sofas, there is a long wooden table where you can enjoy the homemade meals together. The kitchen is rustic and well equipped with the necessary tools and facilities. Four of the bedrooms have aircondition, the fifth bedroom - the childrens's room - has no aircondition as it is cooler, but has a fan available. The common areas are air-conditioned as well.

Can Maria de Montgri is ideal, if you appreciate beautiful design with so many beautiful details and a lot of space. The construction with thick limestone walls and tiled floors both add to the authentic atmosphere and helps keeping the temperature pleasant. In addition, the house has Air condition, which you are welcome to use if necessary, if you just respect the cost of it, so you only turn in on when necessary and with windows closed. And of course turn it off when you leave the house.

The surroundings
As being situated in the village, Can Maria de Montgri benefit from the possibility of having restaurants and some shops in walking distance. If you want more selection, the lively seaside town L’Escala is less than 6 km. away. At the bayside surrounding the cosy sandy beach in the city centre hosts more than 20 restaurants with seafood, tapas, paella or what you prefer. In the Summer, the town is full of people, and if you come outside the high season, it is fantastic to go on a weekend evening, enjoying the sunset and the lively atmosphere created by the weekend guests.

This also means that beautiful sandy beaches are less than 10 minutes away by car, and you can also find more secluded beaches where you swim from the rocks, in Catalan called “Calas”.

For excursions, you are in the middle of the Dalí triangle, and Girona is about 35 minutes away. You can also visit the white village (Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell and Tamariu) and it is also nice to dedicate a day to Barcelona. It is about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car. If you want, you can also cross the border and visit France.
