We booked this place for the ocean view, which is amazing! However, this is where the good ends. This place is so dated and dirty. The only thing that looks like it has been updated since the early 70s is the flooring in the kitchen/living area. The carpet in bedrooms is old and stained. The sofa is badly stained. The armchairs are stained and have ripped fabric. The balcony chairs are cheap plastic and stained. The dishwasher is old and not installed properly. The beds have old spring mattresses and are terribly uncomfortable. The bathrooms are dirty. The master bathâs shower curtain rod is attached to the ceiling by a chain and zip tie. The shutter blinds in the master bedroom have several broken slats. We tried to contact the rental company when we arrived and were able to speak with a maintenance employee who offered two other units for us to switch to, however they were only two bedroom units and we needed three bedrooms. He said he would let the realty company know of my concerns and have them call me on Monday (we arrived on a Saturday). No one ever called. I contacted Dunes Realty Co. myself after our vacation and expressed all my concerns. All they said was that they would let housekeeping and the owners know. I will never stay here again and will definitely not stay anywhere managed by Dunes Realty Co. ever.
If this were my own personal condo unit, I would be embarrassed to have guests stay here. With a complete renovation, this could be a beautiful place.
Iâm giving it two stars only because of the ocean view.
We had a total of 6 people staying in Retreat 509. The condo was amazing and the view was beautiful. It was very clean and had everything we needed! There was so much space that we never felt cramped. Litchfield Beach was wonderful! We will definitely be back!
This condo was very spacious and had an excellent view of the ocean from the living room, but the furniture was old and stained very badly. We put the spare sheets over the couch and one chair to sit comfortably. The overall property was very nice and appeared as discribed, but this unit is "dated" and needs some TLC. It looks like it hasn't been updated since it was built in the 1970's with brown molding, doors, and a "popcorn" ceiling.
