Absolutely nothing can be said to justify the beauty and ambiance of this remarkable cabin!! My family and I give it the highest rating possible. The hosts were kind and efficient. We plan on making this happen again in the near future.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Pat & Jeriâs cabin. It was a very nice and comfortable home with a beautiful view of the mountains and easy access to the ski slopes. The hosts are very responsive and very friendly!
This was a great, clean cabin close to Waynesville with a nice view of the mountains from the front porch. We enjoyed the picnic table on the front porch and the overall âmountainyâ aesthetic of the cabin. Great stay!
Wonderful spot to get away and see the fall colors. The cabin was conveniently located to go hiking, see the elk in the Great Smokies, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had more than enough space and enjoyed the deck and fire pit.
Great cabin. The only thing missing would be draperies or blinds on french doors.
I would prefer a little more privacy and disappointed that the river was across the road. However, the cabin itself is lovely. Thank you for a nice stay.
We came up for his just a night and it was everything we needed. Location was a little interesting but nonetheless, we still felt like we were secluded. Enjoyed nighttime sitting on front porch listening to the creek rolling. Would recommend to anyone and will rent again.
My family enjoyed our stay (especially making s'mores with kids). We discovered our reservation was a day short of what we needed. We called & Pat allowed us to extend last minute. Great location with beautiful views & the quiet we wanted. We'll be back!
Absolutely wonderful ! Our ten days at the Kennedy cabin was amazing the cabin had everything you need for your stay. It was so clean and decorated beautiful for Christmas. The Catachoochee ski resort was only 12 miles & tubeing world was 8 miles in Maggie Valley! Super Walmart maybe 15 miles! We love the cabin and will visit again soon !
We very much enjoyed the cabin and outside fire pit. The host was very helpful with helping us with early check in and when we had vehicle troubles. He had neighbors come help us. The driveway was a challenge for our full dress touring bikes but we made it work. The amenities in the cabin were great! Overall we loved our experience and the rides around the Smoky Mountains was awesome!
Beautiful " Cabin " - Very well equipped, with every thing needed. The Scenery was beautiful - got stunning sunrise photo's. Unfortunately, view from the kitchen window is not something you can do much about. Very relaxing and fun time with our daughter and grandsons - lot's of corn hole challenges !
The cabin was beautiful! The beds are more like doubles, but they sleep great. The fact that they have all the pots and pans for their guests is just amazing. The view is gorgeous and we loved sitting on the porch and just enjoying the mountains. We weren't able to to enjoy the firepit because it was raining. Unfortunately, the cleaning fee is the same whether you stay for 1 night or 7 nights. Along with the cleaning fee, you have to take your trash with you, but there is nowhere to throw it away on a Sunday. We only stayed one night, but it was a nice getaway.
The main room is perfect for families. The space is larger and open. My 92 year old Dad played checkers with great grandkids at the large table while there was a crazy Monopoly game by the fireplace. A pretty drive in. The neighborhood is in an unincorporated area so there are very nice homes with some smaller, older ones. The two closest neighbors that we saw were a retired, older man and a family with young children. They are at a distance and we never felt unsafe. Or heard any noise. The bedrooms are small but who wants to be in the bedroom. There are many great features about this property without the luxury price.
The cabin itself was great! It was clean and nicely kept. The beds were very comfortable. We rode in on our motorcycles so our packing ability was limited. Since there was a supply of coffee k-cup's and sugar it would have been nice to have had creamer also there is a fire pit outside that was great only there was no real supply of firewood for it so we found some pieces of wood and built a fire. The esstetics of the neighbors property is not the prettiest sight! The sound of the nearby stream and the watching of the birds & chickens was cool and the splendorous view of the mountains is Awesome! All in All I would recommend this cabin to future travelers looking for a nice place to stay with beautiful scenery!!
If you're looking for warm cabin get-a-way this is the place. We enjoyed Christmas with our family there for a week. They had everything we needed for a nice, comfortable stay in the smokies!
Good location for activities in the Waynesville area. The cabin was very clean, beds comfortable and we really enjoyed listening to the stream nearby. The owners were very quick to respond and could not have been more helpful.
We live in Tampa Florida and have three adult kids, Are youngest is attending Florida State University. In 2004, our family rented a cabin in Waynesville and we all fell in love with the North Carolina mountains! In 2014, we bought the property and began designing the cabin. In March of 2016, we broke ground and opened for business in December of 2016.
The cabin was Pat's childhood dream. Ironically, years ago, Pat's sister bought them "The Kennedy Hideaway" sign, which hangs next to the front door of the cabin. We had no idea that would eventually become the name of our business.
Jeri teaches special needs kids in high school, which has been her passion for over 25 years. Pat retired from a career in law enforcement and now works at a local hospital.
We enjoy providing a clean, well stocked authentic log cabin for our guests to enjoy. Our goal is for our guests to enjoy the majestic mountains and make memories that will last a lifetime.
We chose this property for numerous reasons. The views are spectacular and the rushing water from the stream provides such a soothing experience while you enjoy the rockers on the porch by day and amazing white noise while you sleep at night. Whether you're looking to hike, see elk, enjoy beautiful waterfalls, explore the Smokey Mountain National Park, drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, ski or go tubing, white water rafting, ziplining, gambling in Cherokee, the Biltmore in Asheville, enjoying great restaurants, or shoping in Waynesville or Maggie Valley, you're never far from the cabin.
