à propos de cet hébergement
Host & Stay | Hithe House
Summary:
Hithe House is a modern, four-bedroom, three-bathroom holiday let, located in the wonderful town of Amble on the Northumberland coastline. Sleeping up to seven guests, this dog-friendly home is the perfect place to enjoy yourself with your loved ones.
After a day of exploring, enjoy home cooked meals and evenings lounging in front of the TV in this well-equipped self-catering property.
The Space:
Youâll feel at home as soon as you step into Hithe House, thanks largely to the luxury interiors on show in this holiday home. On the ground floor, youâll find a roomy living area with ample space for the whole family as well as a kitchen diner. The living room is also home to a Smart TV.
Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, youâll have everything you could need to prepare and enjoy meals in the kitchen diner.
The house benefits from enclosed outdoor space and outside furniture accommodating all guests so you can relax in the sunshine during the summer months.
Upstairs on the first floor youâll find three bedrooms and the family bathroom. There is one twin room, one double room with ensuite, and one single room, so the setup is ideal for groups of friends and families. On the second floor, there is a king ensuite bedroom.
The main family bathroom has a traditional bathtub with handheld shower, separate stand-in shower, WC and basin.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Hithe House are accessed via a key safe box and full details will be provided prior to check-in.
Free on-street parking is available nearby and around Amble.
One small to medium well-behaved dog is welcome to stay at Hithe House per reservation.
Please note that the travel cot & high chair will need to be requested prior to check-in.
The Neighborhood:
Home to a harbour filled with a selection of harbour side eateries, great seafood restaurants, cafes and pastel-painted beach huts, the waterfront town of Amble hugs the River Coquet estuary at the southern gateway to the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Amble prides itself on being the âfriendliest port in Englandâ, and its annual puffin festival, brightly coloured beach huts and the wooden retail pods of Amble Harbour Village are just a few of its quirks. Whether you are looking for a fun day out to explore with your family or a relaxing trip, Amble has so much to offer.
A short walk through the clinking halyard of Ambleâs award-winning marina will take you to the harbourâs wooden pods, which sell everything from cheese to charm bracelets. The Northumberland Seafood Centre located at the Amble Harbour Village sources and sells local seafood. They also have a lobster hatchery with an interactive and informative visitor centre.
Boutique ice cream makers and Golden Fork winner for best speciality food, Spurelli sits on the waterfront, along with waterfront bistro, The Old Boathouse. The Fish Shack is another of the harbourâs highlights, where you can savour fresh fish in this harbourside seafood emporium.
Watersports enthusiasts should head for the Coquet Shorebase Trust, which offers an array of aquatic fun, from sailing and kayaking to power boating and raft building. Clockwatching isnât something we would usually recommend, but a time check with the Amble Sundial against the largest gnomon or indicator in Europe is not to be missed.
Puffins, seals and a variety of other wildlife and seabirds dwell on Ambleâs coastline and the Puffin Cruise that sails from Amble harbour is not to be missed. Hop on board to spot the 36,000-bird colony nesting on Coquet Island, an RSPB seabird sanctuary a mile off the coast.
Head into Ambleâs small town centre for a High Street crammed with cosy cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs perfect for tasting local tipples. Amble shops are perfect for finding that local Northumbrian gift to take home for a friend or a keepsake of your stay in Northumberland.
Lace up your walking shoes to enjoy a walk (Approximately 6-mile circular walk) from Amble to Warkworth and visit Warkworth Castle and Hermitage, once home to the Percy family who also owned nearby Alnwick Castle. The fascinating cross-shaped keep, first built over 600 years ago remains largely intact.
Getting Around:
Alnmouth Train Station on the East Coast Mainline is approximately 5 miles north of Amble and has direct routes to Edinburgh, Leeds, London and Plymouth, plus the majority of towns and cities in between.
Two main bus routes can be found operating in Amble offering direct access to Alnwick, Ashington, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Morpeth, Newcastle and Seahouses.
Newcastle International Airport is 31 miles away from Amble.
