cute place close to everything but in a quiet area
loved this cute place, was small but as advertised. great location close to everything but in a quiet neighborhood which was perfect. was perfect for the two of us but too small for a group. 100% would come here again.
Cozy little condo! Great walking distance to the village gondola and the hot tub and sauna were great after a day of skiing at mammoth. Amenities like the TV and stereo were out of date which doesnât matter much but is worth knowing before going. And bring extra socks the floor was freezing! Overall a great rental and great location. :)
Very efficient studio. Everything was there for a perfect stay. The kitchen was neat and tidy, full stove, apartment sized fridge, coffee makers, tea kettle, dishwasher. The bathroom has one sink and a tub/shower. The bed was comfy. The sofa was fine, thatâs where we opened our suitcases for the duration.
Electrical safety hazard in the bathroom and clearly a long-time leak under the kitchen sink (we reported both). Many area rugs posed a tripping hazard as theyâre all curled up at the corners. Also, their non-skid tape is no longer adhering so rugs slide out easily from underfoot. Owner may also want to consider updating the coffee pot to one with an Auto Shutoff feature. Weâve stayed in the unit several times 10-15 years ago, but this was a very disappointing stay.
This place is NOT clean! When we arrived there was hair in the tub, toothpaste on the faucet, stains and hair on the pillows, dirty dishes, and overall filthy rugs, furniture, walls, and blinds. Vacasa brought us new pillows and offered to send the cleaning crew but we already had sanitized everything and that wouldnât fix the filthy furniture and rugs. This place is disgusting but in a great location. Also the shower curtain looks like an original from 1989. Will Not be returning!
Very difficult to communicate, no property manager for direct communication. Unit was very cold upon arrival. We contacted Vacasa twice, no response. Never heard back regarding heat or being able to leave car while we skied extra. As a premier host, very disappointing.
We loved this place. Very quiet, at least while we were there. Very close to the lakes and the Devils postpiles national monument. We would like to come back maybe next year.
Location was perfect to get to dining and attractions in Mammoth. The studio was small and a little dated but a good fit for two people and we liked using the hot tub and other condo amenities. Since we were spending all of our time outside anyway, this worked well for the trip!
This was my ... 2nd? ... time in HV29, but I've stayed at this complex dozens of times since the 90's, always in the summer and usually for a week (discounted). 1/4-1/2 mile to the village, which I can still do, and a mile from downtown, which I can't (I'm 78). HV30 directly over this is more roomy and has a dining table and open living room, but has stairs to the bed loft which give me trouble now. A chair on the balcony would have been nice in HV29, but next time I'll bring a deck chair from the car. Wi-Fi is different from last year but worked OK. Spa is about a 100-yd walk here, closer in HV30, which has a direct walkway to the parking lot with no stairs; a dozen steps up to HV29, which I was able to negotiate with luggage using the railing. Peekaboo view of the mountains thru the trees, slightly better in HV30. SuddenLink cable TV in Mammoth is fairly bleak, but the unit has a disk player and you can stream some stuff through the TV. Watching TV is tricky unless you like to watch from the bed; I used the rocking chair. All the cooking gear I needed and more, plus plastic glasses for the spa.
We were doing a quick ski trip for me and my two kids. The location was great. Very close to the town center (about 10 minute walk). The condo is also fairly close to the hot tub, so it is a brisk 1 minute walk in the snow. Parking was very close as well.
So, I will admit I was nervous by the size of this condo. But it worked for the three of us. Kitchen had a single use coffee maker. Had all the things needed if we wanted to cook a meal. The heater and pellet heater were awesome. TV is positioned well for everyone to view.
(BTW, the lock box on the right of the door is for something else, in the app it says lock box, it means the key code on the door knob, which when it is dark is hard to see).
Awesome place to stay! Very close to everything you need, walked to the gondola from the room in 6min. The room was clean and cozy. Everything was provide.
Overall, the condo was nice if not very cozy. It was mostly clean and did not smell. It is quite small with a lot of furniture in it. The walls are thin and we could hear the neighbors above walking around and moving things. Bathroom was small but acceptable and looked like it was remodeled fairly recently. The bed was comfortable.
Apparently the sofa is a hid-a-bed but we didn't pull it out. While comfortable for two, I would not recommend it for more than two adults. With the hide-a-bed pulled out there would not be much room to walk.
Cons: The Refrigerator: It was on the coldest setting when we arrived on Wednesday, and we turned it up from 5 to 3. The next day everything was fine. Friday morning, however, quite a bit of our food had frozen. The fridge kept running and wouldn't shut off even when we turned it up to the warmest setting. We turned it off completely and then back on a while later and then it cycled on and off appropriately. Apparently the property manager came out and checked it but never contacted us. The manager turned it back to setting 2. It worked all of Saturday, but Sunday morning everything was warm and the fridge wouldn't turn on. We shook the fridge and finally it came on. Bottom line, it needs a new refrigerator.
Other thoughts: Bar stool cushions were dirty so we removed them. Also the fireplace hearth is stone and sits almost an inch higher than the rest of the floor. So whoever sleeps on the wall side of the bed needs to be careful when walking around that they don't hurt their toes or foot, especially when its dark.
