Kids Fun Farm Themed Bedroom in Cosy Cob Cottage
Family fun accommodation with the option to hire a hot tub on site! Wild Wanderers is more than just accommodation, itâs a feeling â€ïž
Enjoy a holiday in the unique and charming old barn and piggery dating back to the 17th Century, which has been sympathetically designed into three wonderful self contained cottages. Beech cottage goes above and beyond at retaining its charm and character with its pimpled and dimply walls.
Relax with the family as this cottage is aimed for entertaining your little wild ones!
Give your little wild ones the ultimate farm experience by treating them to a stay in their very own farmyard! Children can sleep in full size tractor-style bunk beds, play with hands-on interactive features, and spot familiar farm animals and toys all around the room. When they need a change of scenery, we offer a Nintendo mini-game console with over 20 nostalgic games to choose from, ensuring you'll get the rest you deserve while the kids are entertained! As they immerse themselves in fun, you can enjoy the cottage's charming cob character and timeless décor, where you'll find everything you need to make your stay memorable. Beech Cottage also offers a comfortable double bedroom with a full-sized wardrobe and mirror, as well as a shower over a petite bath for your convenience. Relax and enjoy the cosy ambiance of the lounge, complete with a real log burner (one basket of logs is provided and we sell additional crates, if required), and dining area, perfect for games, colouring and family meals! The cottage also features a fully equipped kitchen, ensuring you have everything you need for a delightful stay.
Beech Cottage is set in a mature courtyard, with two other cottages and the main farmhouse close by, is self-contained and located on the boarder of Devon and Cornwall, close to award winning and dog friendly beaches; exploring both counties just got easier!
From the cottage you have direct access to almost 12 acres to explore, from peaceful gardens, to cheeky goats, the apple orchard and picturesque woodlands which will lead you all the way down to the spectacular River Tamar. Come and play, explore, relax and unwind.

The Cottage is just a few steps away to the entrance of our nearly 12-acre smallholding, the Cottage is a haven for small and big adventurers alike! Encourage your young ones to don their wellies as they discover the wonders of a vast pond teeming with wildlife, explore the meandering river, and make friends with our delightful farm animals, always eager to say hello! đ· đ
Children's play area and Recreation Areas
At the bottom of the courtyard leads to our area of tranquillity and the pretty gardens with an array of colour during the seasons. This area includes an apple orchard, children's play area, sheep and lamb paddocks, pig pens and undercover seating area for relaxation and enjoyment. Come and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the birds play or a cup of tea while Taylor (our resident Kune Kune pig) eats his breakfast!
There are a number of spots around where we encourage you to enjoy a BBQ (if you are unsure, just ask, we are always happy to help!) or, if you wish to be closer to your cottage, you can BBQ right outside! (Don't worry if you forgot your coal, you can purchase coal from us, please enquire for further information).
You are welcome to stroll through the orchard down towards the River Tamar where our guests have access to over 400 yards of fishing đŁ . The idyllic river setting with peace and quiet allows some good fishing, fish include Trout, Roach, Grayling and in late autumn Salmon returning to spawn. If you have the patience and the time is right, you can see Red and Roe deer đŠ, birds of prey đŠ soaring in the thermals, kingfishers sweeping and darting along the river, and majestic otters playing.
Spend a day with a picnic to enjoy by the river. Along with a picnic table, a tempting homemade river swing for the brave and daring, and hammock, kids can safely explore the water when it's low. Let them discover treasures, create rope swings, and even try their hand at crafting rafts by foraging for leftover wood - your adventure awaits! đ€ Beware, though â once the sheep đ catch a whiff of your snacks, you may find unexpected lunch guests joining your riverside rendezvous! đ€
Our woodland trail is also great for explorers of all ages, just don't forget your welly boots! đ„Ÿ
If you just fancy a well deserved break, imagine yourself unwinding by the riverbank, immersed in the pages of a captivating book đâ a perfect moment of relaxation awaits.
Water fun! đŠ
During your stay you will also have access to a shared heated pool (5 meters long, 1.1 meters deep) The pool is situated on a deck overlooking the gardens where youâll also find a table and chairs, if you want to take a break from all the splashing! (The pool is seasonal and opens from April - October; weather dependant). We hire the pool by the hour at a rate of ÂŁ15ph. When it is booked, it is for your cottage's private use.
On a clear night why not try stargazing in one of our two bubbly hot tubs available on site for hire; we have minimal light pollution which means you can immerse yourself into the massaging effect of the bubbles whilst the steam clears your stress away! We operate the hot tubs on a first come, first served basis. You will need to contact us to confirm availability for the duration of your stay and, we recommend you do this prior to booking, if the hot tub is a priority for you.
We appreciate the amenities may not appeal to everyone so we have decided not to include their facility into the price of your stay, therefore additional charges apply for their use.
Cost: Every new guest will have a clean, freshly filled and heated hot tub ready for arrival. Due to this, we hire out the hot tubs on a per stay basis at the rate of ÂŁ30 per day, i.e. if you book 3 nights and wish to hire the hot tub; the cost will be ÂŁ90. Please note, for shorter stays, there is a minimum charge of ÂŁ75 for the hot tub.
Please ensure you pre book the amenities prior to arrival. All amenities are on a first come, first served basis.
Our family live onsite in the main farmhouse (opposite) which gives us the opportunity to be able to help and assist you with any part of your stay. If you require anything, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
We have travel cots and highchairs available, please let us know if you require these items and they will be ready for you in your cottage upon arrival.
Shorter stays are available upon request.
Your dog is part of your family and we allow up to two well behaved dogs in your cottage which is also allowed across the site on a lead, unless agreed otherwise.
