The treehouse was perfect. Easy check in, quiet and peaceful location. Everything we were looking for. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful ranch.
Very disappointed in our stay on the Asante property. I'll start with the positives. (1)Easy check-in (2) friendly communication with property manager (3)clean and uniquely designed room. Unfortunately those items alone don't make for a fun stay. There was literally NOTHING to do on the property. Asante advertises a communal pool which is not available if the Nyumba is booked. That should be made clear and it is not. The Asante website also shows pictures of people fishing in a pond so we brought poles and tackle. No pond! Also, the property may be spacious for the wildlife but it's all gated off for guests. You can't even take a walk (there are signs). We literally felt so trapped that we left in the mornings and returned late at night. This stay was so bad I feel like a refund should be in order due to false advertising, but I know better than to even ask. I hate writing bad reviews but I wish I had seen one like this before I paid to be trapped in a small space.
Asante - give ALL of your guests something to do in a communal space and carve out trail on the property where guests can go for a walk.
Enjoyed everything about this place. Loved the African decor and animals. Brought back memories. Room well equipped, we stayed in the tree house. Had an exciting last night with a storm. Loved that we had lots of washcloths. So many places skimp. Loved being able to use the hot tub the last night. No downside about the place. However not liking all the extra charges through Vrbo. Will only be using in the future for something special like this.
Just off dripping springs in a quiet little area. Just as described. The deck is fantastic place. Great for couples weekend away. The distillery across the road is a neat place for dinner and drinks. The bakery nearby is excellent.
We came here for our 10th anniversary and serene is the best word I can think to describe it! So peaceful, and quiet. The customer service was impeccable, and we felt right at home. The animals were so fun to look at as we sat on the porch of the treehouse! Highly recommend this amazing getaway!
My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the Machan. Its a fun one bedroom treehouse with comforts of a nice hotel room. The surrounding area was full of exotic grazing animals that we were able to see from the property and on the drive up to the property. Its a short 5 minute drive from dripping springs and in close range to several other areas that we were interested in checking out. Kimberly was very helpful and we appreciated all of her help!
The property was great. The management was responsive to all questions. The Machan treehouse was lovely. The bed was large and comfortable, the AC was cold. We enjoyed sitting all day and evening on the porch. Its far enough from town that the property seems secluded, but also very close to many things including Jester King Brewery and Treaty Oaks distillery which are basically next door. We visited/picked up drinks from both. You can see the other rentals on the property so it is not completely private, but far enough away that no one really notices each other. We saw some dama, gazelles, roans and deer from a distance. I really wish they included binoculars in the room as it was hard to see them. The lodging area is fenced off from the animals so it was hard to see most of them except the damas that hung out fairly close to the fence when you drive in and out of the property. I did appreciate this on the other hand because you can tell the owners are putting the animals above their guests and providing a safe and natural environment for them rather than using them as toys for humans to interact with. If you want to see the animals closer I would suggest requesting a private tour. That was available to book about a week out, but we did not. It was August when we stayed so I would love to go back in fall or spring to really enjoy the porch and book a tour. That would make it exceptionally lovely. I grew up in East Africa so this was a special treat for me. Got a little teary eyed when I saw gazelles for the first time in many years. Asante sana.
Only minutes away from so many things in the Hill Country. Plus the drive to get wherever you are going is beautiful. The wildlife tour on the property is awesome as well. The Machan is a very cool place to stay. It provides a one of a kind experience. We will be back.
Really enjoyed our time at Asante Lodging and plan on booking again in the fall and including our family and their children on the next trip. Property is well managed and staff was very helpful and responsive to our request.
