The cottage was cozy! It had everything we needed for our short stay. The yard was great for our dogs and the front porch was so comfortable to relax on even in this past heat wave. Walkable to town and local parks. Eldon was an excellent communicator.
It was one of my most relaxing booking and Oden, the Owner of the property, was very easy to work with. Read my Kindle a lot. Took a couple of walks. A well rounded stay for me.
The property was as described and perfectly located for easy access to downtown and Whitman college. Quiet peaceful neighborhood with excellent communication from the host.
Everything was great. The extra bed in the second room is a small sofa bed. We were surprised to see it. Lots of blankets and sheets available. We thought it was going to be two regular beds.
Big enough fof a couole who wants to get away for a weekend stay or trip to see Walla Walla's wine country. Just 2 minutes from downtown and 5-10 minutes from the South and Downtown AVAs. Quiet neighborhood and 5 minutes from the nearest Walgreens and Safeway. Good sized fridge for those looking to save on meals. Microwave, Keurig, and full kitchen. The owner is really great to work with!
The property was clean and nicely furnished and was represented well by the description provided by the owner. My friend and I enjoyed our experience at the home and in Walla Walla.
We loved the house we rented from Eldon this year. We have stayed in another house he owns and truly enjoyed that so to get another chance to stay on any of his properties was a great thing. The host is the best and is easy to work with. the house was perfect the 2 of us and located right where we wanted to be. Thank you, Eldon,.
Neighborhood is good, very quiet and a 5 min drive to downtown Walla Walla. Worked great for our weekend in town. House is older, was generally clean but needs some maintenance - for example the bathroom smells mildewy, and I would not want to guess when the bathroom rug has last been washed. Bed was ok, we enjoyed the front porch too. I agree with other reviews that it's not enjoyable to be woken up at 5am on Sunday by the sprinkler repeatedly hitting the outside wall of the bedroom.
We had a nice stay. The property is a little tired but the location was very convenient for visits downtown. Great restaurants, wine tasting rooms and shops in downtown Walla Walla.
This property was decorated charmingly and had wonderful amenities but the heating situation was sub-par. There were wall units in the kitchen and the bedroom and even though we left all the doors between rooms open, the living room stayed at 60 degrees F. There were floor vents but we couldnât locate a thermostat that would control another source of heat. Luckily, there were a lot of extra blankets available.
Cute and cozy historic home that has been nicely updated and had a large dog bed and pet food dishes as well as K-cups and creamer with the keurig! Only complaint is that it was really cold- but the host said we could have turned up the mini splits more!
We stayed in Walla Walla to enjoy food abs wine for a long weekend. This property was clean and maintained, but a bit chilly in the main living room and we had to work to figure out the heating levels needed for comfort.
The house is cute, wifi worked well. The area was fine, neighbors seemed friendly. We did have problems staying warm in the living room. It's an old house, maybe a space heater for that area would help. Overall, it worked out fine.area
This is a one bedroom house listed as a two bedroom. The other bed options are both very uncomfortable pull out options. The second "bedroom" features the smallest least padded pull out sofa I have ever seen. When pulled out the bedroom door cannot close, due to the size.
The other disappointing issue is the HVAC system, the whole house unit has been replaced by a split system, one in the primary bedroom and one in the kitchen. With the bedroom door closed, air does not circulate and the living room and second bedroom not receiving any heat or AC in the summer.
Cheap, too cold in the house to shower, furnishings were 3rd rate at best, owner obviously did not want to spend any money on upkeep. As soon as we walked in the door, we knew we were paying for a very low-grade rental.
The kitchen was probably the cleanest area of the house, but we didn't cook so that did us no good.
The bathroom towels and sheets were terribly worn - the white towels were not white.
We couldn't get any heat to work. Awoke each morning to around 60 degrees. Didn't want to shower in the shower that looked like it had mold in the inappropriate grout, or use the Yukie towels, and in the cold. The bed had a very thin bedspread and thin sheets on it and that was all. I found a blanket in the closet - it looked yukie and we didn't use it. I found another thin bedspread and we used the two layers which worked for us. The bed itself was noisy as the rattan headboard was poorly attached. I stuffed a pillow between the headboard and the wall.
A couple hours before our 5:30am get up time there was a noise that sounded to me like a branch rubbing against the outside of the bedroom or metal flashing rattling. My spouse thought it was sprinklers hitting the house. It did not make for a good nights sleep.
Check the ceiling light fixture in the living room and on the porch! Gees! Exposed wires hanging out of the walls, cord dangling from a lighted picture in the bedroom?????? Entry steps need a handrail!!! Yucky furniture around the back door.
Cozy little place. Enjoyed our stay except for being woke up at 4:45 in the morning from sprinklers hitting the side of the house and windows of the bedroom.
