Very nice place. Great dock and personal beach. Lake does not have many houses so it feels private. Enjoyed the loons every evening! Bedrooms are small.
My partner and I stayed here with our fishing boat for a week and had a wonderful time. We didnât get much fishing in due to weather but the cabin was nice and comfortable.
Enjoyed our two days at Bass Lake. Small accommodations and what we needed for a home base between excursions to Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor, and surrounds. Enjoyed the kayaks. Night sky amazing.
We went with our 2 teenage daughters to this private lake property, it is small, but it was fine for the 4 of us. we went in April, so it was cool, and the dock wasn't in, but it was peaceful. Not far from grocery store and close enough to the dunes. It was a pleasant getaway with the family.
My husband and I love staying in the cabin. This will be our third time. The first time was in the summer, so we made use of the kayaks and my husband did some fishing from the dock. The last two times we came in the fall to enjoy the colors and to do some hiking. The cabin is cozy, clean and feels like home. Andrew set us up with firewood from the neighbor. Jerry was great and even helped us get the fire started. Even though it was unseasonably warm for October, the wind put a damper on us using the kayaks this time. The lake was pretty choppy. We highly recommend the kayaks when the weather cooperates. I had a couple questions for Andrew during our stay, and he responded right away. Heâs an excellent host. Thanks again for sharing your cabin with us.
Love how cozy and clean cabin is, very nice and new. I would recommend owner to put kitchen floor mats, in winter feet got frozen while I do my coffee or wash dishes. Also master bedroom needs a night stand. Otherwise perfect, love the lake view ,sunsets, and bonfire. Thank you will come back in summer!
The first thing we noticed was the dog hair on all the furniture and floor, and unfortunately it made my boyfriend sneeze the whole weekend. Cleanliness was not at its peak thatâs for sure. But as far as location and amenities go it was good. Bed is small and not too comfy. Priced right. Lake is beautiful.
This is a very expensive area overall, so the price wasnât out of line but we were hoping to have a few more basic amenities available to us at the house (ex. Coffee, shampoo, etc.) would not recommend this location if you are traveling from out of state unless willing to bring everything you might need. Cute house, comfortable for a couple or very small group.
This trip came At a very distressing time in my life. I needed to get away and I wanted to somewhere peaceful to disconnect from everything. The place was simple and clean overall. I found a plate with half eaten chicken wings on it inside the microwave as well as molded coffee inside the coffee marker. Other than that everything else was perfect. The chicken was not enough to deter me from returning next year with my kiddos.
Area is quiet and a beautiful. A few things we were not impressed with
The area is beautiful and Andy was nice and responsive when contacted. We liked a lot about our stay like the property and the coziness of the cabin. The water was beautiful and peaceful. The sunsets were AMAZING! The âbeachâ area is very small more like just an entrance to the water. There were a few things we wanted to point out for others that may stay here in the future. Andy states in his ad the cabin shares property with another house. It isnât shown in the pictures on the listing, but the house is literally feet from the cabin. The back area of the cabin where you will be hanging out is in clear view of the front door of the house and itâs windows. If you are looking for privacy or a romantic weekend, this would not be a good choice for you. Another thing that is probably our biggest complaint is the bed that is in the cabin. My husband is 6â5 and I am 5â11 and both of our feet hung off the bed. My husbandâs feet hung so far off it was actually unreal a bed this small would be put in the main room of the cabin. We are both pretty thin in size and we rolled together on this mattress. Unfortunately we had to sleep there for 3 nights which made for major back pain when we woke each day. The futon/couch in the main area was decent but filled with sand, coins, and gum/candy wrappers. It really is a cute cabin with many nice things, but just make sure these things will work for you.
I did see in another review where someone stayed a few weeks before us that they found the bed uncomfortable too. Andy replied saying a new mattress was coming the next week. This could not have been a new mattress we had for our stay. I hope this would be something they would update for future guests.
We have been to Interlochen and the surrounding area previously and love the region, but this was our first time on Bass Lake. The lake is great! Sandy and shallow for our 1 year-old to splash her feet in, and provided a beautiful setting for views of the sunset.
The cabin is small, but had everything we needed, and was very clean. The only snag was the unlock code for the door did not work initially - but we called the owner, and Andy helped us out immediately.
I grew up spending my summers in Northern Michigan. My wife Molly and I bought this home so our kids can experience the same. We hope by lending our home out to you as guest you will be able to experience the same for your family and children.
There are so many reason I fell in love with this property. First of all Bass Lake is a hidden Gem. This spring-fed, clean, clear sandy bottom lake is what drew me in. The lake is peaceful and looks across at state land. The house sits just far enough from Traverse City that it enjoys a lack of light pollution so the star gazing is spectacular.
