The Cotswold Light House (ML63), Lower Mill Estate
The Cotswold Light House is a four-bedroom property situated on Minety Lake. Sleeping up to 8 guests, this property has been beautifully designed and the homeowners have furnished the property to a high standard.
All our properties at Lower Mill Estate, The Cotswolds and Silverlake, Dorset have strict rules to ensure a family friendly atmosphere. Our properties must strictly be used for holiday purposes only and not for working in and or using to commute to and from a place of work. Stag and Hen parties are strictly not allowed at any of our properties, and we reserve the right to cancel your booking if you break the estate rules.
This property is only available for weekend holidays in 2023 (2 and 3 nights).
Ground Floor
The Cotswold Light House is one of the few properties at Lower Mill to benefit from having a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and lounge all on the ground floor. The bedroom has a beautiful wooden double bed and is equipped with a smart TV allowing you to log into your own Netflix, Prime and Disney accounts. With a built-in wardrobe, there is also plenty of room to store your belongings. Just across the corridor is the downstairs bathroom, with a walk-in shower and a toilet.
There is a utility room with additional storage space for your belongings and here you will find a washing machine and tumble dryer in case you need them during your stay with us. The freezer can be found here in the utility room freeing up cupboard space in the kitchen.
To complete the ground floor is a fantastic open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area. The dining table seats 8 and as a bonus there is also a beautifully designed kitchen island with two bar stools and an induction hob. The kitchen itself is kitted out with a Miele oven, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge. There are all the appliances and utensils needed for you to make the most of this self-catered accommodation and there is the bonus of a Siemens wine fridge.
The lounge has two lovely leather sofas and a couple of bean bags that are great for children. There is a large smart TV that you will be able to log into your own streaming accounts such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney. There is a log burner perfect for lighting in the winter months to make the lounge feel even cosier.
First Floor
Here you will find the other three bedrooms at The Cotswold Light House all kitted out with lovely wooden beds and side tables. All four bedrooms have their own built-in wardrobes.
Starting with the master bedroom you will have your own ensuite shower room. The high ceiling in the master bedroom gives you a very spacious and light feel to this double bedroom.
The third bedroom is also a double bedroom, and the final bedroom is a bunk bedroom which is perfect for two children.
Outside
To the back of the property is a decking area complete with a gas BBQ, corner sofa and coffee table. One of the best features of this property is the outdoor coffee table which has a built-in gas fireplace providing a great setting to relax in during the evenings.
Minety Lake is the newest addition to Lower Mill and Habitat Escapes! As such, there are still properties and areas around the lake and wider estate that are undergoing final elements of construction, so whilst this property is fully completed, you will see construction, machinery, and workers around the property between 0730 and 1800, Monday to Friday and 0800 to 1300, Saturday. Please abide by any signage relating to construction areas. Please review the above images to make sure you are aware of the surrounding construction of The Cotswold Light House prior to booking. The pricing of the property has been reduced to reflect the neighbouring construction. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Habitat Escapes Team.

Bike and watercraft hire are available at the Activity Hub as well as lessons.
Please be aware that the vegetation surrounding the property is subject to change according to the time of year. This may mean that the views represented in the photos above may vary depending on the season in which you stay with us.
Normal check-in is from 4 pm. Out of peak season, early check-in of 2 pm may be available (at an additional fee). Please contact our office team to enquire.
Check-out during off-peak dates is by 10 am on the day of departure. During peak dates (school holidays) check-out is at 9 am.
£500 refundable damage deposit is due the week before your arrival. You will be contacted regarding this.
Travel cot and highchair are available for £10, subject to availability. Please advise at the time of booking. Guests to provide their own linen and mattress for the travel cot.
There is a strict 11 pm noise curfew on the estate.
There are 3 electric vehicle charging points on the estate that operate on a first come first use basis.
All our properties are non-smoking.
Seasonal Closures
Somerford Lagoon Lake is closed from October – March due to nesting birds. The nearest canoe launch point is located near Mill Village as marked on the Estate Map.
The Miss Mouse Trail, run by the activity hub closes for the winter months. This is from 1st November to the Easter holidays.
