À propos de cet hébergement
Characterful & spacious C17th cottage. 3 Bed. Pet friendly. Rural tranquillity.
Situated in a picturesque location, our spacious family cottage is an ideal place for couples, families, small groups and their pets, to come and unwind in the peaceful surroundings and explore the Lakes (and beyond) by foot, bike or boat. Recently renovated, we are situated within both the national park and dark skies areas. The property provides rural tranquillity, with regular sightings of both the Milky Way & the Northern lights, as well as easy access to most major retail chains including Booths and M&S, most of whom do home delivery. We have dedicated off road parking for 4 + cars, but you can walk to either of our local dog friendly pubs in 10-15 mins, and bike rental is available in the village & at Grizedale forest.
Details:
Our family cottage has been recently re-furbished and redecorated to a high standard with new double glazing, beds, carpets, family bath & shower rooms, all with thermostatically controlled central heating. The period feel has been sympathetically maintained with exposed beams in all rooms, cast iron wood burning stoves, local slate floors and vaulted ceilings. The mature garden is fully enclosed by a combination of stone walls and fencing, with ample room for storage of bikes and canoes.
The house has three generous bedrooms, one with a super king size bed (which can be offered as two singles), the second with a double bed and the third bedroom also has a king size bed. The large upstairs landing also provides a double sofa bed if needed, along with a broad selection of maps, games and toys. There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs.
The main family lounge has a vaulted ceiling, with a large stove and seating for 10. It enjoys great views of Dow Crag & The Old Man of Coniston and is a great room for family games or events. The room enjoys a sound system (with Bluetooth connectivity), large smart TV (60”) with soundbar, Blu-ray player and broad selection of films.
Downstairs the modern kitchen can easily cater for 8 people, who can be seated at an adjoining dining space via an extendable dining table. More informal options are available with bar stools at the counter or in the adjacent snug. The snug has a multifuel stove and can accommodate 6 with a variety of comfortable seating providing great views of the garden & wildlife. A pivoting smart TV and soundbar, can provide music and entertainment to both the dining room and snug.
Downstairs also accommodates the second bathroom and third bedroom in what is a quiet part of the house. The large porch allows plenty of room for boots, coats and luggage whilst the utility area provides washing, drying, and an additional fridge freezer.
The house is supported by fast WiFi throughout, and is in regular use by our own family, as such, some areas of the house (such as storage) are reserved for family.
The garden is equipped with furniture, BBQ and some additional games to enable you to enjoy the garden and peace that it brings.
The Hamlet of Lowick Green benefits from a central green, which is common land and surrounded by friendly families. On the other side of the green is the road up to the common, an extensive conservation area full of wildlife which is a great space for children and pets to let of steam. The beacon at the top of the common provides magnificent 360 views across the Irish sea and to the northern fells. Other numerous footpaths can be accessed easily from the farmhouse, and there are two good pubs within easy walking distance (10-15 mins).
Prices include heating, all bed linen, towels, BBQ use and logs for stove (extra available to buy locally). Travel cot, highchair and baby bath are not provided at the property.
