Thank you for highlighting our excellent location near the beach, restaurants, and rainforest. However, we must respectfully clarify the circumstances surrounding the damage charge. Our security footage documented the children repeatedly throwing a football forcefully against the covered exterior area, striking the ceiling and fascia several times. This caused visible damage to the surface and paint, as well as marks on the surrounding walls. Photos, videos, and repair documentation were provided to both the guest and Vrbo. To ensure fairness, we allowed Vrbo to review the evidence independently and make the final determination. After evaluating the documentation from both parties, Vrbo concluded that the damage claim and corresponding charge were justified. Although we provide outdoor spaces where families can relax, signs should not be necessary to establish that activities capable of damaging the property must be avoided. Guests are responsible for appropriately using the facilities and supervising children during their stay. No concerns about the property were reported during the reservation; this complaint arose only after Vrbo approved the damage charge. We welcome families and always aim to provide a safe, enjoyable stay, while also protecting our property and applying the same reasonable standards to every reservation.
