Fall in love with Olhão from our amazing, spacious rooftop terrace. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the sea, the sun, the charming white cubistic houses, and the wonderful cobbled streets of this unspoiled gem of a fishermen's town. Welcome to Casa Citrino, a luxurious Old Merchant's House, lovingly restored and renovated to preserve its authentic beauty.

Located in the heart of Olhão's bustling historic center, our townhouse is in a pedestrian area, just a few minutes' walk from vibrant markets, seaside restaurants, and 7 minutes from the local ferryboats.

The Apartment is placed on the first and second floor, and you will have the whole place to your self, and you have a private entrance from the street as well, At the first floor you are met by a welcoming hall, a large master bedroom with a French balcony, a delightful dining room, a guest room and a large bathroom with bathtub, and a fully equipped kitchen with bespoke cabinets. From the kitchen you will take the stairs to the second floor to the second bedroom and bath room, and from here you have entrance to the highlight of the place, which is our large terrace, Its perfect for relaxing on the sunbeds, enjoying your meals, or simply sipping a glass of wine while soaking in the views. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee from the out door kitchen placed on the terrace.

Our spacious apartment is all yours to enjoy, but we bet you'll spend most of your time relaxing on the terrace, exploring the city, feasting at local restaurants, or enjoying the fantastic beaches on the islands of Armona, Culatra, or Farol. We're happy to share our favorite pastimes and hidden gems of Olhão and the Algarve with you. Everything you need is close by – the Pingo Doce supermarket is just a 2-minute walk away, and you're already living in the historical center. Seaside restaurants are a 5-minute walk, and the ferries to the islands are another 5 minutes away.

A Perfect Short Break

I don’t think my wife and I could have done better than selecting this property for our week in Olhão. The photographs accurately reflect what you’ll find when you arrive. Everything we needed was on hand. The house is cool and airy courtesy of the high ceilings. The house is ideally situated; everything within a short, easy, stroll. It was fun being part of the local community and listening to the sounds of day to day life while sitting on one of the two roof terraces. In summary, my wife and I had a wonderful stay in this lovely house; our only regret that it was over too soon. We will have to return to do those things we never got around to doing.

Stilvolles großes Haus in zentraler Altstadt

Der Aufenthalt in diesem ungewöhnlichen Haus war unvergesslich. Das Haus ist mit antiken Möbeln, Lampen ausgeschmückt. Alles sehr sauber , in bestem ZUstand. Höhepunkt ist das obere Schlafzimmer mit eigenem Bad und Zugang zur großen Dachterrasse. Ein Traum! Die Aussicht von der Terrasse über die Altstadt bis zur Ria Formosa: Überwältigend. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war sehr freundlich und schnell. Wir hatten bei einem Aufenthalt am Strand von Fuseta den Schlüssel verloren: Es wurde schnell geholfen. Sehr empfehlenswert! WiFi gut, TV nicht.

We are Christina, half Portuguese, half Danish and Claus, born and raised in Denmark - Portuguese by heart. We are totally in love with Olhão, and were so lucky to take over our Casa Citrino in 2017 - formerly known as the Old Merchant´s House. Christina works with digital communication, and Claus is in the pharma industry - but we love travelling, cooking and the lovely vibe of Olhão.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This is a unique authentic, small Portuguese town. It has the most fantastic beaches and yes, you need to take the ferry to the islands for the beach. But its all part of the charm. And one of the things we love, is, that it is still almost unspoiled for the rest of the world. good restaurants and easy living.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

A Quiet, spacious and luxurious apartment with grand roof top terrace. What's not to like. The neighborhood is very relaxed and quiet, and even though you are in the middle of the town, you can easily forget time and place and just sink into the laid back, self confident vibe of the city. Only back lash: You may never want to leave. The best feature - the terrace with seas view, lots of sun and a nice view of the town.
