We didnât originally book our stay in Juliaâs flat, but when we arrived in London, our original flat was double booked. I found this listing at the last minute, and it was the best vacation screw-up ever! This flat is GORGEOUS. Two full bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms. A giant kitchen, and a living space where you could actually sit and watch movies (so many flats that sleep 6 mean you lose the living room, but in this one you donât). Everything was beautifully decorated, clean, and perfectly stocked. Right across the road are both a local grocery store and bus line in one direction and an original Banksy painting and bus line in the other. Within two blocks are a drugstore, Starbucks, a handful of great restaurants and anything else you might need. A couple blocks more and you are at the underground and the Chelsea FC. We felt like we had the whole London experience right outside our door. This was one of the best vrbo flats we have stayed in, and we have travelled all over the world. But the icing on the cake was definitely our hosts. They live upstairs and were simply delightful. Juliaâs suggestions about things to do around town were secret gems, and we actually ended up spending two days of our vacation hanging out with her. I cannot recommend this flat enough, especially if you are looking for a place to pretend you are living in Londonânot just bunking in a white box full of cast-off furniture. It was perfect for our stay.
Julia & Richard were the best hosts ever. They were so helpful - always available to give us suggestions & to make us feel at home. Of course we wanted to see the major attractions, but we also felt part of the neighbourhood. As hosts they helped make our trip a delight.
Julia and her husband could not have been better hosts. The kitchen was well equipped, the apartment clean, and loads of supplies to get us started were provided. They responded immediately to our queries and were very friendly. The location is great for getting to multiple train stations.
Julia was SO kind to accommodate us last minute when our other VRBO rental was canceled due to a fraud listing. VRBO really needs to do a better job at cracking down on fake listings on its site. We came from the states and were stranded when we landed and found out we were canceled by another host. We were able to get into this place the next day and Julia welcomed our family for an early check in. The location is great and close to most main attractions in London. The bus and tube are conveniently accessed from this spot. Also very close to restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The unit accommodated our family well, provided enough space and had an updated, modern kitchen and guest bath. The downsides to the unit were that the front room was difficult to sleep in for me because the street in front of the house was super busy and I could hear the street noise all night. Other cons include noise from the above unit late at night and that it is near a hospital, so you can hear a lot of sirens. Nothing that we could control. The yard/garden is not really usable due to being overgrown, but it was cold anyway, so we never used the yard. We are grateful to have been welcomed in, though, and for being out most of the day, this spot worked well.
