Pottery Gate - sleeps 4 in modern dog friendly cottage with parking and new bathroom

Pottery Gate is located on a quiet street, only minutes’ walk from the centre of popular Bowness-on-Windermere. This leafy street is sure to provide you with the peace and tranquillity of a true Lake District escape, while offering a convenient location for exploring everything the area has to offer.

Entering through the courtyard, you’re immediately welcomed into the open plan living space. Careful consideration has been given to creating this accommodation, with tastefully matched furnishings in place to set the dining, kitchen and living elements apart. A neat kitchen sits to the left, with all modern-day conveniences to hand. A comfortable dining table, seating four, sits to the side of the kitchen, with the cosy lounge and log burning stove set beyond this.

Upstairs, the hotel-like accommodation compromises two double bedrooms, one of which can be conveniently transformed into a twin on request. Both bedrooms have been designed with comfort and relaxation in mind; a combination of subtle hues create a luxurious feel and set this accommodation apart from other holiday cottages in the area.

The newly fitted – and extremely spacious – family bathroom is also on the first floor, with a feature freestanding bath and wall integrated TV, separate rainfall shower with an additional handheld shower, basin and WC. The floor to ceiling tiles paired with the quality fixtures and fittings really are the ‘icing on the cake’.

Lovely stay at pottery gate

Lovely property in an excellent location, nice comfy beds well equipped property steps at front could do with hand rail and rear entrance could do with a little tlc, overall had a very nice stay. Tarn and Fell made the booking process very easy and were very helpful when I contacted them with a query

Fabulous spot, homely, exceptionally clean and a little gem!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Pottery Gate. The house was super clean, very comfortable, and a great place to come home too after a long day walking. The bathroom was a huge hit with my children, watching tv while having a bath was a great surprise! It was very handy having the laundry facilities too, a great addition to the house. I’d also add that we are not pet people and I was a little worried about smells, but there was none at all. It was very clean and smelt wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone looking for a little base in the Lakes.

Our visit to Pottery Gate

This is our second visit to Pottery Gate and yet again the cottage was perfect and absolutely immaculate throughout. Excellent location for all the pubs, restaurants and lovely walks in the sunshine. As always nothing was too much trouble for Ross. Friendly and professional as always. Looking forward to our next stay with Tarn and Fell escapes in January.

A fabulous place to stay!

Our stay at Pottery Gate was just perfect from start to finish. On arrival it was cosy and warm and all decorated for Christmas so very festive. Everything and more was catered for to make our little holiday lovely and comfortable. Not even the rain could spoil our stay and we enjoyed it so much we've booked it again! Also nothing was too much trouble for Ross. Friendly, helpful and professional as always.

First visit to the Lakes

Great first stay in the lakes, the property location is fantastic and within walking distance to the lake. The decor and facilities within the property is like a home from home, everything was thought of with added extras on arrival which was really thoughtful. Communication and the service prior couldn’t fault, we travelled as two couples with 2 cars the additional space to park was greatly appreciated. The weather wasn’t on our side during our visit so didn’t make use of the outdoor space but those staying on a sunny day the outdoor space and table and chairs I can imagine it’s really enjoyable. The washing machine and dryer was so handy to wash walking clothes. Won’t hesitate in staying again or recommending. Thank you Ross and team.

We booked this for our staff team at Pebble Healthcare to thank them for their amazing work and the feedback from the team was phenomenal. The property itself was done to the highest standard throughout and the attention to detail excellent. The whole place was immaculate and the service we received was outstanding. The location itself is excellent too. We could not find a single thing to improve on. Thank you so much Tarn and Fell, you will forever be our go to.

A lovely Lake District stay

We had a lovely stay at Pottery Gate with our two dogs. The house was extremely clean and really lived up to the photos. The location is brilliant and easy driving distance from fabulous walks as well as walking distance from all the amenities you could need. It’s important to note that although you get a permit for one car, a space isn’t guaranteed so we did have to do a bit of walking from our car parking space to get to the house which was a bit awkward with two dogs and bags on arrival and we had to make several trips from the car and back. Finding the house was easy, although I did have some difficulty opening the gate and both the front door and back door of the property without some help as the gate needs a good shove and the door handles are very stiff so would advise some improvements here. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking and the place felt very comfortable and cosy, I would have liked some more fire logs however as we could only find one. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and we slept very well! The dogs also had a great time and it was great that we could easily shower them down in the courtyard area after muddy walks before going in the house. We luckily brought our own hose attachment which came in handy as the hose pipe provided had several holes in it so didn’t work – something that would be great to replace for future guests. Overall, this is a brilliant holiday cottage in a fantastic location and despite a few minor issues, I would recommend to others.
