Originally built in the 1800s, this newly refurbished first floor apartment is located in a large Victorian seaside villa, directly opposite Whitby’s Pannett Park. Sleeping four guests, it’s perfect for family holidays and staycations with friends. Close to the West Cliff and just a short walk from the many shops, restaurants and cafes, you’ll be ideally placed to enjoy everything Whitby has to offer.
The Space:
Take the stairs up to Fauna and enter the bright and airy hallway. Continue straight and you’ll be in the open plan kitchen, living and dining area. With dark walls and wooden flooring, the modern space has plenty of style about it. The perfect place to relax during your stay, you can unwind on the comfy sofa or matching armchair and enjoy quality time with your loved ones.
The kitchen is a striking navy blue shade and features all the modern appliances you could need so you can prepare meals easily. Ideal for socialising, the dining area includes a large wooden table and four matching chairs.
The apartment boasts two tranquil bedrooms. The master bedroom features a comfortable king size bed, while the second bedroom is home to a double bed. With plush bedding and premium bed linens, every care has been taken to ensure you have a great night’s sleep when staying at Fauna.
Head to the family bathroom and you’ll find a spacious bathtub with overhead shower, WC and wash basin. Featuring white brick-style tiles and a combination of modern and traditional fittings, this space is quirky and stylish.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to Fauna are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.
Free on-street parking is available nearby on a first come, first served basis.
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Fauna per reservation.
Please note that there are CCTV cameras at the rear parking area, front door and side of the building externally, and the internal foyer internally. These are in place in the interests of guest safety and security.
The Neighborhood:
Fauna is located near all of Whitby’s attractions, and you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs a short walk away.
The apartment is located on the West side of Whitby. You’ll be able to revel in the nostalgic seaside charm - head to the arcades or explore the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts.
Venture over the swing bridge and you’ll reach the East bank. This side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
You’ll find restaurants, pubs and shops just in a short walk from Fauna.
Whitby train station is nearby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
