Lakeland Traditional Slate Cottage, Animaux acceptés

Magnifique chalet en lakeland ardoise traditionnelle situé dans le centre du village de Bowness, mais à seulement 5 minutes à pied des rives du lac Windermere et de toutes ses installations, telles que des restaurants, des pubs et des boutiques. Ce cottage dispose de 2 chambres comprenant une chambre double spacieuse et une chambre lits jumeaux, ainsi qu'une salle de bains de luxe récemment réaménagée. En bas, vous trouverez un spacieux salon avec une cuisinière à gaz et des portes-fenêtres donnant sur un patio ensoleillé et sécurisé avec une terrasse. À côté du salon est une cuisine moderne entièrement équipée, menant à une salle de petit-déjeuner. Il y a aussi une salle à manger formelle à l'avant de la maison. Le chalet est idéalement situé dans le centre de Bowness et dispose d'un permis de stationnement pour un parking gratuit. Wifi gratuit.
En plus d'un parc national, le Lake District a reçu une reconnaissance mondiale en 2017 lorsque l'UNESCO nous a accordé le statut de patrimoine mondial! Quelque chose dont nous sommes extrêmement fiers.

Ideal location. Cottage like a tardis as does not look big from outside. Managed to park ok with permit. Probably needs touching up decorating wise but will not put me off returning soon.

The cottage was beautiful, in perfect location

My first stay in the Lake District and couldn't of got a nicer cottage, it was like home from home. Perfect location, 5 minute walk to lake Windermere, will definitely be returning.

Great cottage, great location

Lovely cottage on the edge of Bowness, a couple of minutes walk to the centre with plenty of pubs and restaurants and the marina. Clean and comfortable for our 4 night stay and a parking permit was provided.

Beautiful cottage , Beautiful location.

Growler Cottage was very clean and very well maintained.A real home from home.It is ideally placed for most of the lake district attractions. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely little cottage, full of charming character. Very well stocked for a home from home. Good location with beautiful walks on your doorstep….not too mention plenty of bars and restaurants which are dog friendly 🐶

Just... fantastic

2 huge bedrooms, a warm house, everything where it should be... I couldn't be happier with the cottage. We all had such a lovely stay (2 adults and 2 small children) and would love to use the cottage again in future. Great location, communication and service. Thank you!

August BH Weeekend

We booked to see Peter Rabbit live so this cottage was a perfect location for that. Lovely, cosy little cottage. Cean and tidy and well kitted out. No problems at all. We stayed with 2 young children (2 and 5) and had everything we needed.

Nice cottage, nice location

We had a lovely week due to the weather being quite hot, but we could not open the old sash windows or lock them when we went out. This was a little uncomfortable.

Glad the weather was so good for you. Unfortunate that despite contact during your stay regarding how to operate the sash Windows that you struggled with the bedroom windows. All ground floor rooms are also openable and lockable Windows.

Cottage was deceptively spacious. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Grandson called the breakfast room 'his little kitchen'. Cottage was fantastic in every way. I was recovering from a knee injury during our stay & was concerned about getting around Bowness, but I needn't of worried. Very close to World of Beatrix Potter (grandson loved it & didn't want to leave). Short stroll to main shopping area. I would recommend this property to people with dogs & children due to it's high standard & secure small rear terrace area.

They have thought of everything!

What a fantastic cottage! Lovely layout, great location and very comfortable. They, really, have thought of everything. From the milk in the fridge, teabags in the cupboard and the biscuits in the jar! Everything you need after a 5 hour drive. Rooms are a lovely size and beds are very comfortable. All mod cons are available and it would quite easy just to sit in the lounge, with the French windows open, and just relax. But, you would miss all the great things to see and do in Bowness lovely, dog friendly, restaurants, cafes and bars. The shopping was great and less then ten minutes walk from Windermere and the boat trips. Parking was easy with the parking permit or a car par park at the end of the road. We highly recommend the cottage, you won't be disappointed, a real home away from home!

Disappointed

The owner of the property was great and provided good information and answered questions quickly. The house is a slate terraced house right in the centre of Bowness, you couldn't be any more central! The parking was a worry for us as it's via a permit and you can only park on one side of the road but as we left the car in situ most of the time it wasn't a problem. The house left us a little disappointed i must say. It was tastefully decorated but felt a little grubby if i'm honest and i did message Tracey to tell her this. The sides were dirty with old food under the cutting mat, the cooker hood didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while and the kettle was covered in food and looked like someone had cooked soup inside it so we ended up using pans to boil water. The owner did come round to clean the kitchen but in all honestly it didn't look any different to me other than she had wiped the cooker hood but you could still see the excess grease. Also the kettle wasn't even touched, still was covered in what looked like ketchup. Some of the walls had tea or coffee splash marks in them, mainly at the top pf the stairs and nr the light switch in the bedroom. The bedrooms were nice but the pillows on the main bed were extremely lumpy and uncomfortable. As people who enjoy a nice bath it was the most awkward bath ever. You couldn't top up the water whilst in the bath or you scalded your legs cause of the position of the taps, and it was so uncomfortably narrow. I had mentioned to Tracey also there was something growing in the plug hole of the sink which i got out with a spoon (i believe it was limescale) and it wasn't draining very fast, she put some unblocker down and it seemed to help. As i said it is a nice house in a great location but does need a bit of TLC and a deep clean i feel.

I am most suprised and disappointed at this review as I feel that this very particular guest was determined on finding fault and reason to complain regardless of our speed to rectify her issues, our sincere apologies and complimentary gifts following her disappointment. We addressed her issues within an hour of her arrival and the kitchen was thoroughly recleaned, the bathroom drains unblocked and as this is a soft water area, the kettle did not require rescaling as she has suggested. Our new bath was fitted only 18mths ago and we have had continued compliments on the comfort of this and our beds. I suspect this guest may be better suited to 5* hotels rather than 4*self catering. It was sad that she never saw fit to say thanks for the efforts and gifts but instead complain online.

Comfy cottage in a great location

This rental is in the heart of Bowness which is adjacent to the larger Windermere. Bowness has everything for a lovely stay -- ferries, restaurants, trail access and a movie theater, among other things. The cottage is a two bedroom with living room, kitchen and small eating area, and a front room used as a study. The kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need to prepare a meal. The cottage furniture is well maintained, and the bed comfy. Parking is available in front of the property, on a narrow lane -- we found a spot and then didn't use the car for the rest of our stay. Communication with the owner was very good. A lovely place to spend a holiday.

Great location

We've stayed at Growler cottage a few times now. Always a lovely stay. Great location to get to the hills for the day and then a walk into the town on an evening. The cottage is well equipped and lovely gesture of the dog biscuit tin for a little pooch. Will be staying again.

Growler Cottage Bowness-on-Windere

First visit to this cottage and we were not disappointed. Good location, situated within walking distance of all amenities. The cottage was well equipped, spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and hope to visit again.
