We enjoyed our time, the cabin is charming and we thoroughly appreciated the inside fireplace as it was rainy most of our week. There are quite a few steps down to the cabin from the road, fyi. The sink drain leaked and was not repaired during our stay. Iâm sure it will be cared for in time for the next guest.
Doll's House was in the perfect location to enjoy the Adirondacks. Perched lakeside, it was just an easy walk to the blue mountain village gift shop, country store, tap room as well as the Adirondack Experience Museum ( a must see!) and two hikes with mountaintop views. The beds were the most comfortable we've had in a VRBO rental. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Check in was easy and everything was as described. Highly recommend!
Beautiful, historic camp with magnificent views of Blue Mountain Lake.
Great porch, fieldstone fireplace with plenty of firewood. Nice dock for swimming and getting on and off our paddle boards. Very nice kitchen with a dishwasher and plenty of utensils and dishes. An outdoor shower (there is also an indoor shower) which we were initially reluctant to use, but ended up loving . Blue Mountain Lake is our favorite lake in the Adirondacks , and the Dolls House is a perfect spot for a private getaway in a timeless location. We hope to go back many times.
The camp was as described...well maintained and a perfect location. We kayaked and hiked and made good dinners. The kitchen is nice for a camp.
We loved hanging out at the dock at night and even saw shooting starsđ.
In this time of COVID, it was nice to have something special and removed.
The house was really cozy and comfortable. The view was blocked by many trees, but Ginger gave us a roll of marking tape and said the selected trees would be removed. Wished the windows were cleaned but again Ginger brought supplies for us to clean them. We left a note for the cleaning staff that there were a few things in need of repair. Our week flew way too quickly. We are hoping to come back possibly for 2 wks next summer, the last wk of July and the 1st wk of August. Loved it!!!
We have stayed at the Meadow Hill house for years and wanted to try something new. This house is well appointed and very comfortable. The kitchen is a joy to work in, for the little cooking we did. A dishwasher at Blue?? Mind blown!! Our flatlander legs got used to the 47 steps down within 2days and we were in better shape when we left. The outdoor shower is so fun, but could use a bit more sweeping on the walls. The place was clean and the sheets and towels were tops. Ginger was so helpful and we were glad to meet her! Great getaway, large enough for our extended family to have dinner together, and we caught a sunny!
The Doll's House is a charming, small-but-perfect, vintage Adirondack cabin, set up high on the edge of Blue Mountain Lake. We ate dinner on the porch every night, with its beautiful views of mountain skyline, lake and trees, trees, trees. The cabin is rustic and authentic: no dishwasher, an outdoor shower (lovely), and a few spiderwebs to boot. But it is magical, with its grand fireplace (good even in summer), windows everywhere, and the front-row views of the lake from the dock. Rent a canoe or kayak from Blue Mountain Outfitters and row it across the lake to your vacation home. And be sure to take a day for a long paddle from Blue Mountain to Eagle Lake, Utowana Lake, through the Marion River marshes and coming out at Raquette Lake. When you get home from your long day of incredible natural beauty and what life was like a hundred years ago, sit on the dock and watch the sun drop behind the mountain, casting its rosy glow over the lake, and your memories. Then take a hike just up the road the next day to Castle Rock, a one-hour-plus climb to breathtaking views of the whole area. An unbeatable location and the classic Adirondack style are all you need.
