As part of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Arnside is located on Morecambe Bay, close to the Cumbrian border. It is known for its rich wildlife diversity, with RSPB Leighton Moss also nearby, home to more than 100 bird species. Warton Crag, Gait Barrows, Hyning Scout Wood and Arnside Knott are among the other nature reserves and walking routes in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area has many activities to offer, including walking, cycling, golf and horse riding, which are all popular activities. At the end of the day, a relaxing meal and a drink or two can be enjoyed in the excellent restaurants, pubs and cafés close by.
You can explore the surrounding areas of the South Lakes and Yorkshire Dales National Park from Arnside. Hop on the train to Grange-over-Sands, a charming, Victorian seaside town with shops and cafĂ©s. Visit Cartmel, known as the foodie capital of the South Lakes, and famous for its sticky toffee pudding.
