2 lits doubles (1 avec salle de bains) et 1 simple, salon avec TV, DVD, WiFi et poĂȘle Ă  bois, cuisine entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e, 2Ăšme salle de douche avec cabine de douche, lavabo et WC, grande vĂ©randa avec vue imprenable sur la baie de Morecambe, hall d'entrĂ©e avec lave-linge, chauffe-eau de nuit mais aussi plusieurs radiateurs convecteurs sur pied.
Vaste terrain privĂ© avec coin salon, mobilier de jardin et peau d'observation des oiseaux. Également un coin salon surĂ©levĂ© avec vue sur la baie.
La propriĂ©tĂ© est isolĂ©e mais Ă  seulement 5 minutes Ă  pied du village de Baycliff qui a 2 pubs servant de la nourriture .; À 3 km du centre bouddhiste de Manjushri et Ă  6 km du bourg animĂ© d'Ulverston avec ses nombreux festivals.
Promenades incroyables et balades Ă  vĂ©lo depuis la propriĂ©tĂ© elle-mĂȘme (y compris Birkrigg Common avec son cercle de pierres) ou seulement un court voyage dans le Lake District.
Aimé par les ornithologues amateurs, les propriétaires de chiens, les promeneurs, les familles et ceux qui recherchent la paix et la tranquillité.

The location was amazing. Secluded with beautiful views...exactly what we wanted. There was a lovely supermarket just a couple of miles away. The property was in reasonable distance from local attractions. Peil Castle and the train to lake Windemere were firm favourites with the kids, as was the beach...right outside the gate! The cottage was clean and had all the facilities required.We look forward to visiting again.

Very disappointed, The property needs a complete renovation, not as advertised, don’t rely on reviews as they are not consistent., apparently there have been problems there for many years & have not been put right. Have made a complaint to company advertising this property & said they should check it out as I don’t want any other people rent the property to be disappointed as we were, it needs a complete update.

If you want peace,beautiful location this is it,loved it

Stayed mid March cold raining, the heating was on when we got there so we could relax straight away, a lot of thought has gone into making it homely and comfortable. The location is fantastic, we were on the beach at least three times a day, The farmer arms pub is lovely and they welcome dogs too, Overall absolutely loved it would recommend it .Would love to stay there again,bet its amazing in summer time, thank you Rose

Honestly the quietest place we have ever stopped. Fantastic location on the beach front. And I mean fantastic. No need for a dog lead while staying here. Had such a good time. Can't wait to go back and that's not like us lol. One of the best holidays we've had.

Great break!

We had a great week here. The property had enough space for the four of us with plenty of room to sit in the conservatory and enjoy the view. The location was amazing, you are literally right on the beach. Ulverston is only a short drive away for provisions or a meal out. Really sad to leave as it was a wonderfully relaxing place to be.

Tranquility at its finest!

This was our 2nd visit to Maskel Beach Cottage and it just gets better and better. We returned for my partner's Birthday. I have never stayed anywhere so beautiful where I feel so at home. The walks with the dogs on the beach, the peaceful location, the great nearby pubs to eat, I really cannot praise the whole package enough. My partner and I are booking again for September 2015 and have decided to get married as near to Maskel Beach Cottage as possible! Perfect, perfect, perfect :-)

Perfectly Perfect!

It was our 4th stay and this gem of a cottage and it was so good to return! What a wonderful place to stay! Opening that gate onto Morecombe Bay is bliss, sitting in the conservatory and looking out of an evening is bliss! It's a really comfy home from home place for us. We had a break of 2 and a half years due to buying a motorhome but as soon as we opened that door, we realised how much we missed it! So much so, we booked it again for September before we left. Thank you Rose and Bob for sharing such a special place, we really do feel at home there and can't wait to return.

Heavenly Holiday

Just come back from a wonderful restful holiday at Maskel Beach Cottage. Was very clean and cosy, all very lovely and comfy. Fantastic views and cottage has everything you need. Rose was a wonderful host and provided us with a welcome bottle and all the logs we wanted. Everyone enjoyed the beach being right next to us and so peaceful and quiet, dogs absolutely loved it and have sulked ever since we got back. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. Thank you very much Rose and Bob for sharing your home.

Property is in a beautiful location but needs some serious improvement.

Property is in an excellent location but work needs doing inside & outside of the house, we had a few issues which I communicated to the owner but thought it over priced for the conditions on saying that it could be made lovely & be a little gem.

Fabulous

This was our third visit to Maskel Beach Cottage and it was by far our best visit.....my partner and I decided to get married there this time! What can I say apart from we love the location and the cottage just feels like home from home (but with far better views!). I think it will be very hard to beat the overall package this cottage has to offer. Thank you Rose and Bob for your lovely card and bottle of bubbly for our special day and for giving us the chance to get married somewhere very close to our hearts.

Stunning location

Peace..tranquillity..relaxation what more do you want from a holiday....this place has it. Totally enclosed huge garden space which my dog loved. It was also a total suntrap which i loved. Windows open listening to waves on the shore...idyllic. I adore cows so to have them in the field behind & greeting us each morning was a total bonus.... Walking to Bardsea or other way to Aldingham in mornings with dog to eatch the sunrise...was just bliss. Couple of issues which lovely owner Rose dealt with quickly & efficiently & was lovely.

Total peace and relaxation

If you need some rest and relaxation this is the place to go. The location is fabulous, being so near the water is so calming and our dog was in heaven. The accommodation was warm and cosy and the location was fab. The views are fabulous and I loved sitting in the conservatory when it was raining and listening to the sounds. We didn’t go out much except to walk on the beach, but there is also a wonderful meditation centre just down the road that’s worth a visit - excellent coffee and cakes! We would definitely return. Communication with the owner was excellent all the way through. The only minor negative was that the dishwasher didn’t really work very well (we were aware of that) and we had to wash all the glasses and pots before we used them because they weren’t clean.

Beautiful peaceful haven

We loved our stay at this property. It's a ground floor cottage fronting onto Morecambe bay and it is super peaceful, the views are amazing as the sea comes in and out, and the bird-watching opps are brilliant. Sparrow hawk swept through the garden, oyster catchers, plovers and others were in the bay. The cottage is lovely at a basic level so don't expect great luxury. That suited us fine. The sunroom looking onto the bay was so relaxing. Walks along the beach are a bit tricky although the owners say to walk out across the sands. We weren't so sure about this. There is access to other treats in the vicinity though so all fine. Garden and beach access for our dog was secure so brilliant to be able to relax as he explored.

Xmas break

Obtaining entry to the cottage was easy, cleaning was very very poor we had to hoover & mop as soon as we got there it already smelt of wet dogs even though we had dogs we dried them off before letting them in the cottage. Bedding felt damp and had a musky smell like it had not been aired or had windows open to let the air flow through. More security lights needed you can’t see when coming back in the dark.Was great location perfect for the dogs, great little pub the farmers nearby. As a family there for Christmas we made the most of it. Property in need of some TLC & updating.

Just got back really sorry to leave . We had the most fantastic week the weather was amazing but the cottage was lovely not modern or snazzy just really comfy and cozy I felt at home immediately .The beach is great for long walks And when the sea is in it’s at the bottom of your garden . The cottage has everything you need, lovely touches a nice bottle of my favourite wine on arrival 😁 Thank you . It’s very private and our dog Bear loved it on the beach .The garden enclosed enough for ‘normal’ dogs ours isn’t he’s a northern Inuit !! he jumped the hedge a few times onto the beach ,so couldn’t turn our back on him . Wonderful wonderful week my daughter and her boyfriend got engaged while we were there under a clear star filled sky magical .

ONLY location

If LOCATION is your only consideration in renting a property then this is the place for you, the location is marvellous and Bracken, our dog, had a great time. However, if you want a clean and comfortable property then forget it! The cleaners job spec. obviously doesn't lend itself to cobwebs or mounds of dead flies in all the windows. The two smallest bedrooms smell damp and fusty and the beds are in need of two new mattresses. The NSH in the property must be at least 30+ years old, thankfully we didn't have to need them because the weather was kind to us. Forget the "bird hide", if you sit in it, it might collapse under you! The grounds themselves are private and are made more private by the hedge being overgrown so as to obscure the great view over the bay. Parking is adequate but shared with other properties, something not mentioned in the description. Overall, if the property was maintained in better order it would be a fantastic place to stay, as it is, it needs a lot of time and money spending on it to bring it up to those standards.

My husband grew up in nearby Barrow and, as a family we have explored the area with our children for many years. Keen to continue this even when his parents were no longer around, we fell in love with this cottage which we think is in an idyllic location. Although we live more than 200 miles away, we visit whenever we can - our dogs are in their element at the cottage and run for miles across the sands. Our children as adults visit with their friends - taking the opportunity to go for long walks, bike rides,paddling their kayaks and flying kites.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We had no intention of purchasing a property but it was one of those moments where we both fell instantly in love with the cottage and location and knew we must have it. We've had no regrets and, besides letting it out, ourselves, family and friends have had many magical holidays at the cottage.
The cottage is cosy and quirky and equipped with everything you may need - hopefully! Dogs are safe in the grounds of the property but so near the beach for long walks. You can relax in the privacy of the gardens on sun loungers or choose to sit on the raised decking so you have a stunning view out over the bay.

Location, location! stunning views from the conservatory and gardens over Morecambe Bay with the hills of the Lake District in the distance. The seclusion and tranquillity of the cottage - no near neighbours. Pubs (and food) 5 mins walk away, one dog friendly. Vast sands to walk out on (ideal for dogs). Amazing bird life in Morecambe Bay can be viewed from the property. Ideal base for exploring Southern and Western Lake District or just going for walks and bike rides from the property.
